Do framed scarves ever get matting like prints? This would cover up some of the border.

Sure — I am pretty sure a framer can do whatever is desired, including visually cutting off some of the border. A bit trickier to pull off for just wearing though.

In other news, I just spent half an hour trying to find a scarf to wear with a McQueen dress. I have been switching more and more of my wardrobe to McQueen, and many prints are actually quite a challenge to match to scarves. Will post a photo when I actually leave the house.

showing the full dress ... and congrats on your Tuiga grail, FugitiveRouge!
Thank you, Croisette! I love being able to share the results of my successful grail hunts with H fans who get it.

This Hola Flamenca is totally up my alley, and now I want one!
well... Let's see now. Is it red? Yes. It's totally up your alley. ;) I could see the polka dots going very nicely with some of your high contrast AMcQ outfits, too.

Hmmm - HF doesn’t say Disney or H Kitty to me... I mostly see the polka dots and the fab red. It’s a lovely color!
Thanks! I love it so much, but the red white and black polka dots are basically the natural habitats of MM and HK. See? PhotoGrid_1555184366910.jpg

Don't you have a scarf that had to be rehemmed because it had been mounted, glued, and framed? That got me thinking about getting a scarf cut down and rehemmed because of too-large border. Would anyone ever consider that?
yes, my oldest one - l'Ocean
i'd love to get it re-hemmed just to re-fresh, but honestly, i'm scared it will be ruined

I also have quite a bit of AMcQ, same with Cavalli, some of these dresses/pieces are busy enough on their own but you can go tonal rather than match spot-on.

So, I can *finally* participate in SOCT... And here it is - no theme except it was "cold & miserable" where I live (15 C or 59 F - ok, I'm a wimp).

An oblong Rocobar in Cashmere/Silk oblong shape purchased from a lovely lady (who is a member here *waves* lol). I fell in love with the colours & had to have it. No doubt a familiar story ;)

Please excuse the appalling presentation as we've had some serious issues with our solar system and been surviving on generator power for a few weeks. This was yesterdays 'dress' as we went into town to fill up the Jerry cans with fuel for the generator. Today was spent inside a shipping container learning about electrical engineering. Turns out it's not as simple as 'turn on the power point'! And wiring in new parts (I *refused* to subject an H-scarf to that!).

DH has banned me from scarf purchases until further notice (a stole is not a scarf right?) so my new SOFT posts may be limited to my current collection :/ View attachment 4402347

Oh no a ban!

Love this Rocobar though, even if it's just to keep warm

I decided to wear my brand new Tuiga as the SOTD. I was so thrilled to find this with tags still on it. I've been on the hunt for this colorway for ever. It will be perfect for summer. It's still cold and wet here, so not the most seasonal choice. But I couldn't resist doing a test run. I love it with my red glasses; the red hem really coordinates and pops nicely.

Uh. Just for reference - is that a royal blue or a navy blue? If the first, I faint, pick myself off the floor, and start frantically googling. If the second, I calm myself and point my bank account to other scarves. (Hi, I’m fizzy and I have blue issues.)

In either case, what a spectacular scarf!!!

I adore this little scarf and think it would make an extraordinary wall hanging. It is art around my neck as well and one I almost always take with me when traveling - like today.
Dans un Jardin Anglais
First picture is of the darling thing after a very warm day at Versailles - I had to laugh because I felt like the little thing was just beside itself after seeing those gardens! It has been washed since! [emoji38]

And today - heading to the office before the flight this afternoon.

Ooh, that would be charming framed! There’s a pastel blue version that I didn’t like on me but would be great framed in a certain room, I think. Doom!

I was struck by the idea of a gavroche framed, though, and panicked at the realization that I might have purged a cheap frame that I bought years ago. The print was sub-mediocre, but the frame was ornately carved + layers of matts. I still have it - it’s smaller than remembered and the gavroche larger, so the matting is lost, but I would still hang this:

off topic, last year, when i first was infected with the Carres virus, i stumbled upon the H carres digital store (la maison des carres). has H ditched this idea because the links just take me to assorted international H.com sites.

It’s up my alley not just because it’s red! I like this graphic look — I would totally wear this with a plain black McQ dress. All jokes aside, it is on my list now.

I am still not seeing the cartoon connection :) we took Eva Air flight this winter that was Hello Kitty-themed, and everything was pink, not red!

This is from today — with my Flamingo Party MT. Technically, it belongs to my husband, but he is a generous man :)

It’s been a real (first-world) problem though, since I love both McQueen and Hermès scarves, and making them work together can be difficult.

Ah — I am not sure what to advise here, as I have broad athletic shoulders, so no bag problems here. The Maasai does come with a longer strap and can be theoretically work crossbody, but not sure how that would work. I am jealous you can pull off the Evelyne, I tried it multiple times, and can never make it work for me.

Oh- that's too bad! The canvas strap is perfect for my shoulders and the casual vibe goes with most everything for me. It finally made me realize all I need is one of those in a neutral color, and a couple of smaller dressy purses and I am good. Because, unlike with scarves which I tend to look for a different one every day, I am incredible lazy about purses, hate to change out of them and prefer to carry the same one for weeks on end before getting tired and switching to a new one.

It's pretty cold again, with Voitures à Transformation CSGM today

That's a beautiful blue Croisette!

No- definitely not at all Disney!

Yeah- that was a such a great resource for looking at past issues....so sad it is gone...

I like the combo! (And I can see how it could be a real challenge for pattern on pattern....)

I tried to do that with a La Rosee CSGM. I have one that is a lovely aqua with white and pink roses. Unfortunately it also has a border of an olive color that is about 3 or 4 inches wide and is a color I cannot wear. I took it in to H to see if they would cut the border down, preferably to a contrast hem. Alas, I was told that they will not undertake such a thing as it would modify the original design. However, they would do so if the scarf needed a repair.

I am scared to intentionally damage such a beautiful piece, but I have never worn it as is. Ugh...

I love that scarf and bought one to frame. Alas, it is still in the box...but you are encouraging me to dig it out and find a framer!
