I love the way Yellow pops out of every scarf!

A l’ombre des boulevards
A’ travers champs
Sangles en Zigzag
A l'ombre des boulevards is a gorgeous design!

Haha. Ok. Oh and I forgot to gasp at that incredible pendant you are wearing. Carved ivory?

Gorgeous scarves, but let’s flrget about them for now and concentrate on this pendants! Amazing stuff!
Not elephant ivory. These should be carved from fossilized walrus tusks, IIRC. Dragon set with carnelian and, I think, a hessonite garnet. Ganesh with kyanite. The middle one is a salamander in amber with a moldavite.

So many lovely yellows!

Traveling today and currently ogling the sites from 95 heading north. Mr Cookie - who is technically driving - just saw 4 boars on the side of the highway having a snack. I - on the other hand - am not driving and alternately watching the road (someone has to) and enjoying the parade of yellow silk.
I’m off topic today with Sea,Surf and Fun. Tho not totally OT because I will see the beach today!

Have fun, Cookie!

I searched for nearly ten years for a Galop Volant in the grey/blue and maroon horses forever. I then saw that the corners might appear upside down when tied? I love this saffron version of yours! More pics when you can on the corners dear!
Will do mod pics over the weekend.
I almost bought the black cw, but stopped myself. A lot of designs look wonderful against a black background, but I find I rarely reach for black. Of course I could also say the same for yellow. SOTD does make me unearth scarves I seldom wear :P. I wanted a paler cw of Galop and almost BIN'd the white with dark blue border. Then I saw this and it was "game over"

I didn't pay attention to Galop till one day I realized that it was based on Tang dynasty figurines!

I love the CdV... It’s one of those designs that’s fantastic in every single CW!

OMG, these pieces are fabulous! I’ve been zooming in on each one to see all the amazing details. I am intensely jealous right now (but, in a good way, as I wish nothing but that you wear and enjoy them in good health!) The carving of the pieces and choice of accompanying stones is masterful. Now, did you find the carvings and the stones separately and had them set? Did your friend in Amsterdam create the finished pieces? Do you know the provenance and/or dates of each one?

Love them all, especially that amazing Din Tini Ya Zue.. and the Sangles en Zigzag... I contemplated that CW of SeZ for the longest time and finally got distracted away from it, but I know there are some still out there. It never came to my H store. Would you be so kind and post some modeling pics whenever you get the chance?
Absolutely! Will do some modeling pics when I return after the weekend. I am just learning to be a little more "creative" with my 90s so I will give it my best shot.

Your Grand Manege is stunning!

They are all created by my Amsterdam friend. My only input was for the dragon. I didn't like the original stones. I wanted yellow and orange to symbolize the fiery pearls that Chinese dragons are depicted with. So my friend reset it for me.
The walrus tusk carvings are done by artists in Alaska. The amber is from Australia, I believe.
(You really need to visit her shop in Amsterdam! You'd have a wonderful time there!)

For @Cookiefiend: my neighbourhood wild boars

For all our furry companions, wishes forever to play under the Eiffel Tower and starry sky: “Souvenirs de Paris” by Tennessee-born Hilton McConnico, 1989.
Omg this scarf is totally divine dear! Got to look for one now! Thank you everyone for the kind and thoughtful wishes.:heart:You are my favorite peeps and thread on tpf :flowers:

Had to do a double take! We should do a whole thread of 'is it or is it'?
I know, right? I like the idea of doing this to pay homage to so many of the distinctly stylish ladies on the forum.

my heart says cashmere but my wallet says twilly!
the Stars will align when both agree!

So I thought I would show off my "problem scarf" yesterday. I find Les Merveilles de la Vapeur just charming, and figured I could overlook the pale yellow for the awesome grey border and details. And then it came and I tried to wear it with a grey blouse and it was horrible. The border turned this weird purply/brown/olive color, and I still didn't like the yellow. So I thought about dyeing it, but then I'd lose the fabulous detail - which is a true grey! Sigh. So I put it on the "sell pile" for a while. And figured I'd complain about it here, and then... I liked it.

Ok, I can never wear it with a true grey, or the border will turn that weird annoying color again. But against anything else? It's pretty nice! (And y'all have inoculated me this week against my instinctive recoil from yellow. Thanks!)

For my true grey fix (and some randomly acid yellow cords) I'm wearing Last Night today:

Love the Vapors. It looks great with black. I think it could look great with a number of blues like navy or denim. Maybe a light green?

Have fun, Cookie. The whole outfit screams seashore to me!

Still do not understand why I did not get it. Something stupid like “have too many blue scarves“
emoji170.png
@scarf1 has it right... There's probably a reason why you have so many - you love blue!
