Absolutely gorgeous on you. This is one of my all-time favorite scarves and I don’t even own it. I suppose I should look for one.

You look really divine in pink. Wow!

You are always so chic. I especially love your combination in the first with the red and etoupe (or is that chocolate?). Smashing.
Thank you sweetheart - this pink is a perfect shade!

This is so interesting! Thank you for the edification. I always learn so much from your posts. I would love a Galops Volant and the Cent Plis de Miao.
Very often, I look right past a scarf until something sparks my interest. I ignored Galop Volant until, one day, I realized that it was based on Tang dynasty pottery figurines. And while nerdily doing research for this week's theme, I spotted the dancers on it. No doubt I will learn more about the design in future. That's what I like about H scarves - they are not just some random assortment of drawings.

Kachinas MT - the Kachinas are part of the traditional dances.

Wow! I like that bright pink and green cw!

Dear friends,
My apologies for being MIA this last week, as I’ve had a lot of stuff going on and tons on my plate. I will try to go back and catch up, if only with “likes”... I did get some good news this week, though, as these two glorious silks arrived... Sieste au Paradis giant silks in CWs 6 and 9. I wanted to choose just one and so will have to go with the one on the right, but the blue is so stunning and unique that I can’t quite persuade myself to return it yet. Ironically, just recently, some of the SS2020 silks have become available on the H website, but I don’t regret purchasing these at all... Nothing there is quite as compelling to me as these two magnificent swaths of silk. Now, I need to play with them a bit.

Both are stunning! What a wonderful dilemma to have

Scarf ladies, I thought there was a how to knot a scarf thread but cannot find it. Would one of you experts know how to tie a 90 this way?

Actually that is CSGM . ( 140)
You could probably achieve this eternity scarf look with 2 90s or a stole, although you won't get the cosy softness of a CSGM.

Scarfies, how long do the boutiques keep scarves from previous seasons in their cases? Until they are gone? Or do they have to send them back to H? Someone was asking me about Space Shopping from A/W 2017 and I didn’t know whether they might still have one lurking in a boutique somewhere or if they would all be gone by now.
I rarely see anything from the past season in the display case, although they might be lurking in the drawer. Sometimes, if I know exactly what design I want, my SA unearths a piece from some mysterious storeroom, although it may not be the cw I want. In general, anything older than one season past gets returned to the local HQ and put into storage for the next sale. Occasionally, an older design surfaces in a delivery, possibly due to upheaval of some sort. I picked up a Grand Prix 2 seasons late, and suspect it was because Ugo came by for a Carre Club event, so his designs were pulled out of storage.

Absolutely gorgeous on you. This is one of my all-time favorite scarves and I don’t even own it. I suppose I should look for one.
That is so reflective of my state of mind!

Good morning Scarflandia! This weeks theme is going to be a lovely one.
ICE QUEEN - Grey, white, ivory, pale scarves.

The lovely calm and cool, serene colors. A certain shade of light on a sunny morning, or the dusk of a summer evening. A snowy evening, with a winter storm on the way - can make you feel a chill in your bones!

The Snow Queen is a Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale, published in December 1844 - When the Snow Queen, a lonely and powerful fairy, kidnaps a human boy Kay, his best friend Gerda must overcome many obstacles on her journey to rescue him. When she finds him, she must melt the ice chips in his heart and in his eye.

As a child, I loved the idea of a Snow Queen whirling around the snowy world. There is a movie from 1957 by Nikolay Frodorov that I watched in the 60’s - hosted by Art Linkletter - and was fascinated by... I watched it last week though and it didn’t have quite the cache as it did then, but the Snow Queen was beautiful still.
My first pale beauty - Cheval de Charactere

The White Witch - Jadis - froze Narnia in the Hundred Years Winter. I loved all the Narnia stories as a child, and still have those books in my library - I know I’m a total nerd!

Lovely intro! :)

Thank you sweetheart! Fifi’s pink Kachinas set me off in a desperate search for one and I was thrilled to find this maxi twilly! It’s a beautiful color!
It is indeed! I just love it. I have the giant triangle which has that color, along with bright yellow and navy, and it’s a stunner. I can’t believe I was able to buy it brand new on ebay and for an excellent price.

What a great intro, Cookiefiend. I love The Snow Queen and HCA’s many compelling and beautiful stories. What came immediately to my mind with this week’s theme is the snowflakes pas d’ensemble (my term; I don’t think this is an actual ballet variation term) in the Nutcracker ( “Valse des flocons de neige”), where the
snowflake ballerinas dance and pirouette through the forest. The music is just stunning and one of Tchaikovsky’s very brilliant and special compositions, with it’s sounds of fleeting, swirling wind and snow. I’m quite in love with it. I will model what pale scarves I have later.... :flowers:

I don’t know if there is a rule. I have just seen some Savana Dance twilly today, the SA told me it was a new production using the same old cw (from 2 years ago I believe)...
