I love the La Danse in purples—trying to find one for my dancer granddaughter! Beautiful!
Thank you Winter, your GD will love it!

I wish they would reissue Les Ballet Russe, all your dancing scarves are beautiful but that's my HG
I'm waiting for a CSGM ... thank you papertiger.

Oh, Croisette, these are beautiful! I am a devoted balletlover (I don’t like the word “balletomane”) and have loved both La Danse and Les Ballets Russes. La Danse seems like a grail and is not often available on ebay but always out of my price range. And you have three! Congratulations. LBR is usually available but I haven’t taken the plunge yet. I love your cw. And I have been in love with La Danse du Cosmos for years, esp. the royal blue cw with lime trim (O.M.G.), but have felt that it’s somewhat too formal for my needs. Your pink is spectacular!
There is hope to find one, it's a must for you Karenska!

Thank you sweetheart!

Lovely as always Croisette!
Thank you, dear Cookie!

Speaking of Les Ballets Russes, as some here may know, George Balanchine was a dancer and choreographer with Diaghilev’s company in the 1920s and created two of his most iconic works during that time - Apollo and Prodigal Son.

Does anyone know the significance of the cross in this scarf? This cw is my particular favorite.
Oh my, what a beautiful CW!

Amazing intro xincinsin! I love that you take the time to give us a bit of a lesson/explanation each time -and - help us come up with some ideas for the week! So helpful because I thought I might have any!

Dancing Pearls! Love!!! :girlsigh:

Really fantastic intro xcs! So many spectacular scarves! :dothewave:

Gorgeous scarves Croisette! Particularly love that pink Dance du Cosmos!

All so gorgeous, Croisette! I love all your dance scarves!

I have three cws of Acte III, Karenska. Almost bought a 4th (@papertiger's red cw) but after trying it on 4 times on 4 separate visits, I had to declare defeat and admit that it just wasn't me

I've watched the Balanchine 1966 film, scratchy and bad sound, probably 30 years ago. Have to admit that I'm more of a Vic-Wells fan. My fascination with Mythiques Phoenix has some of its roots in Margot Fonteyn's Firebird. And to bring the subject back to H scarves, Fonteyn was coached in that role by Tamara Karsavina who first performed the Fokine ballet when she was with Les Ballets Russes!

Shhh... Cookie, I have to be inventive - I have 2 left feet and not that many dance scarves  Just call me Scarf Nerd :smartass:

Love all of these!

Great intro!
SF ballet is performing A midsummers night dream in 2020. Already looking forward to wearing one of my Act 3 scarves!

Oh! Those beautiful la danse scarves! There are so many great CWs.

What stunning colorways of La Danse du Cosmos and Dancing Pearls. Just gorgeous!

Have had season tix for the ballet for 40 years...

I have a new, small 45 Square that screams out Christmas from every angle. The scarf’s called: Sea, surf and fun. Have a nice day!
BTW, I’m sorry to everyone who had quoted me the last few days. My apologies for not thanking everyone, I was supper busy. Now I have time but I can’t find who had quoted me. Please forgive me.
So cute, tlamdang!

Today's SOTD is my red butterfly scarf, I don't have any holiday themed scarves yet but the red of this scarf and my red top put me in the holiday mood. View attachment 4610120 View attachment 4610121

I'm looking forward to Scarf on Site

It's a beautiful design but the scarf gods have been too good to me this year, so I resisted... :crybaby:

Oh, I was so hoping that someone would post this. Grailed!

Farandole is a delightful design. If anyone comes by Changi Airport, do drop in at our butterfly garden!

You look so enchanting that I'm getting green-eyed (slouching off to sulk  )

I've got one in a dark blue. I'll see if I have any archive shots.

Thank you, moma! :hugs:

:wtf: So glad you realized where it had gone.

I am so wanting a Ballets Russes, but I need to find one without lots of brown in it. Brown and Me = Not Friends
Xincinsin, regarding the browns in Les Ballets Russe, I completely agree. For some reason, most of the cws of this scarf have a great deal of brown or a heavy orangy gold in them. My fav, of which I posted an internet photo yesterday, is the grey/blue/light gold cw.

And the twirling beauties in Belles du Mexique plisse:
Love the dancing ladies on Mexique!

Gorgeous moussie!

I wore this today. Although we are now cold enough for cashmere, I love it too much and refuse to put away.View attachment 4609967View attachment 4609968
