Thank you! When I put the Samourais on in the store - my eyes lit up.
La Cite is a beautiful and warm color - it's like all the colors of chocolate at once around my neck. Yum!
(I couldn't find the cw on H.com, or in the FW 2019 thread, and I didn't get the tag from the SA - I'll have to look at the receipt!)
Love that Cite. But must definitely not give in.
Is this the cw info you were looking for: CW 13 creme/camel/tabac ?

Sorry that I was only able to (with great enthusiasm) to like so many wonderful posts and eye candy - so I’m saying many belated words of You’re Awesome!
Back home now and I’ve been thinking about the H journey I’ve been on. I’ve always loved scarves, but I didn’t wear them everyday and often they were big bulky things. We don’t have an H where I live, I didn’t even know they had scarves... until 2016 when I decided that I was going to change myself inside and out. I found a blog (The Vivienne Files) and - zomg - she was using 12 H scarves and building wardrobes around each one. Well I’ll be darned - I read all the posts, started working on my wardrobe and started looking at H scarves. Ahem - as a frugal and sensible Hoosier - there was no way in H E Double-hockey-sticks I was paying THAT much for a scarf (  ) and began looking at evil bay. My first scarf was Daimyo

And it was a jacquard. I had no idea there was such a thing!
In 2017 Mr Cookie finally got me to agree to go to Paris where I visited H in the airport. Because I didn’t find tPF until later on, I had no idea this scarf was such a blockbuster. I just knew I loved the colors. Parures de Samourais

Back as of yesterday with my newest treasure - La Cité Cavalière

I’m not sure where I was going with this - maybe that I have really and truly slid down the orange slope in that I will buy one at the boutique, and more than one at a time! :panic:
(I have even applied H math to justify buying an older scarf at what current prices are - after all if *that* was in the store it would cost as much!)
That La Cite Cavaliere is stunning!!

I have to jump on the La Cite de Cavaliere (LCC) bandwagon here...closest I can come to theme is how I’ve changed buying habits. At first, eBay was my bag....literally, I bought the double sens on eBay, then scarves, then I discovered H.com.

It was FW2019 that really changed my behavior: first Le Jardin de Leila, then LCC. A post from NYC led to my calling the SS at Madison Avenue for JdL. And LCC got me into the Dallas H store for the first time.

Already talked about formats THEN and now. Namely started with 90s, but now have a variety of formats with moussies my absolute favorites.

COLORs THEN and NOW :
Ok blue and aqua have always been favorite colors. One thing that has changed is that when I started I wore a lot of black clothes. Over the last few years I have moved to wearing a lot of navy- particularly in the warmer months. Also I own several navy/ white stripe tees. Scarves that look great with navy/ white or navy cream get worn a lot.

lately I have been pairing aqua or pink or burgundy with my navy basics.

another thought on colors: H scarves have actually opened my eyes to trying more colors. However, I now realize that I don’t wear scarves with orange or gold in them, so avoid those in future.

ok, I know you want pix- here are some recent ones

Lovely!

Always wished I had purchased the Marine Fleurs de Giverny!

Thank you! As a guy, I can't pull of some of the beautiful knots I've seen while perusing this forum. I figured I would use the Mors ring as an accent. No knots, just slipped the right end through the larger ring and through the back and out the left, and vice versa on the left side.
Thanks! I'm going to try this. And .... I don't see any shabby AT ALL going on in your photo. Well done!

I am just getting caught up and love reading the old new scarf stories. I started my scarf collection in 2007, so many moons ago. At that time Annie Faivre was a big name artist for H Scarf collectors. I only have a few of her designs now as Aline Honore designs seemed to capture my eye more and then I pared back on those too, and now like some of the designs from Ugo Gattoni to Alice Shirley and Octave Marsal.Guess H really does find a way to introduce fresh and talented artists to keep our interest strong. Sadly I have released quite a few 90, pochettes and even 70 silks. I do seem to wear 140’s more for everday including mousselines and CSGMs. I know this may surprise many but I have also begun to edit my mousseline collection too. My lifestyle has evolved a lot. i love the more monochromatic and solid colored silks nowadays! There are some exceptions including the wild Sweet Dreams and Rainbow Jungle Love, but otherwise I have gone more neutral on my silks for a quieter look.

Some examples of old vs new...

Older designs: Annie Faivre Zenobie, I only kept the 90 scarf...and released for Aline Honore Samourai shawls and silks

Savanna Dance, love animals but the chasing leopard always bugged me a bit, so I swapped in AS Mountain Zebra or Zebra Pegasus

Love florals but silks with a lot of flowers can look matronly on me, so went for the edgier Pivoines in Bronze and Calvacador Claire de Lune

Not buying a lot of 90s these days. Hope this doesn’t rain on any scarfie parades!
My favourite pictures/scarves here are Samouraïs, Pivoines and that marvellous dragged-in-the-mud-scarf Cavalcadour Claire de Lune. They are all beautiful with their calm colour tones, and you wear them so well.

When I first started wearing scarves, I thought scarves came only in squares and rectangles. My first H scarves were all 90cm carres. It took more than a year before I bought a stole - a nice familiar rectangle. And it was after gazing at a great many beautiful pics of other formats that I starting buying gavroches (safe small squares) and twillies (safe small long rectangles).

The change was gradual. I started looking at formats I never tried before and, if they were affordable, I would take a chance. Brief flirtations with pointus and plisses. Now? I am excited by new formats. I bought my first losange Dragon Flash this year. I am contemplating the new round scarf from next season. And the creativity that epitomizes H guarantees that I am always finding something new to try.

My scarf mail yesterday and SOTD today is a "something new". I have several ascots from the men's collex. This is my first ascot from the ladies' collex. I started looking for this more than a year ago when @Jahna posted a pic on the Scarf Identification thread. Suddenly, three in different cws popped up this month on the bay, so I snapped one up.

Whenever I see ascots, I remember that you like them! This is super cute, and I love the red points at the edge!

I just love hearing everyone's stories. Great new Cité - very elegant CW and that knot is fabulous. (I thought you had been on tPF much longer - you're such a central part of our community!)
