Hi! I have been so crazy hectic! I ended them on ebay, are they still on my craigslist or on my actual website? If they are on my website I will have my husband take them off tomorrow as I dont know how to do that, he runs the whole website, ie why a ton of things arent posted lol! I really appreciate you letting me know this, I too agree they need to be down! I am going to check now. Thank you so much ladies!
It looks like they're gone from CL but the blue one and the silver are still on your own website. I don't see the turquoise one.

Thank you so much for letting me know I will make sure they are taken down first thing tomorrow. I cant believe I forgot to check my own website, but ive just been so overwhelmed and I dont know how to operate it anyway. I am just in charge of the IG and ebay, he does that.

Thanks BB and thanks again for finding my last scammer, I really appreciate you taking the time to look for my bags and to help me. You really make a huge difference.

How can I get them to do this? I would love for it to be moved to a post where it will get the most exposure and I can get the most help searching for the items. :) Thank you so much BB! You are the best
If you click "report" in one of your own posts, a text box will come up. TYpe in a message requesting that the thread be moved to the ebay forum.

OP,

Sorry this happened to you. Thankfully you won't be out any money but you're right...who does this kind of stuff!?!

I just took a look at your website and your husband has done a great job with it. Very modern and easy to navigate. Kudos to him!

Want to bet that in order to get the name, address and the cards (credit card and drivers license) - wouldn't they have been mailed to the address on the card??, she is a nurses assistant or care provider for the elderly woman or was in the past?

It's a common scam - having in home nurses/nurse aides steal the personal information of the elderly people they are caring for. Because they have access to the mail when it's delivered and their clients personal information it's relatively easy to pull off the identity theft.

I hope you get your bags back and this scammer is caught.

Oh, this is just awful, but a very good hypothesis! OP, I am so sorry that this happened to you & I hope that your bags are returned to you in the same state that they were in when stolen.

OMG...I remember the last scam where Max, the pawnbroker, had them!
BB is definitely a PI whisperer...don't know how she does it!!! I bet this women scammed some poor old soul and took their identity, makes sense.
Good luck, OP...get this scumbag off the streets and in jail where she belongs!

After posting my original response, I saw an earlier post that said the name/address on the card, license belonged to a 60 year old woman and that the scammer was a woman in her 30's, so I think you're correct--this woman was probably a domestic worker or home health care worker.

I know an elderly woman this happened to. It was horrible for everyone.

Hope the OP gets her bags back & the thief gets her just deserts.

OP, have you tried contacting the husband and wife who own the property at the address on the ID she showed? They might know her or recognize her description. And if they aren't aware of the identity theft, your phone call will be a welcome one.

I can send you their information if you'd like.

Thieves don't have to go that route. I had a patient who had her purse picked while eating at Panera. The thief made a new photo drivers license with the victim's info on it and the thief's photo. They went shopping at a mall a block from Panera. When the victim arrived home she received a call from her credit card company - the credit cards and ID had already been used.

The thieves are prepared to act fast - they want use credit cards and ID before they can be reported as stolen.

Agree & remember they are "pros" so they know exactly what to do
& more or less the amount of time they have to do it...

I know I'm in a different country but the MO is the same, there is big issue with impersonation right now on credit cards.

Applications are made for credit and cards are intercepted before they reach the real person. It's a bit of a nightmare!

They target whole streets/buildings etc.

Yes BB everything matched and the photo was of her! The lady at that address is some 60 year old white jewish woman, this woman was mid 30's and black. I looked at the photo, the birth date, the full name and everything was exactly the same.

Since she has been at my store she has used the card at other places, I do not think to purchase any bags, but at other places in NJ and NYC such as Teaneck NJ for dinner. I did get the chargeback right now but Amex and my processor are investigating and believe it will be covered because she is obviously a scammer and I did everything I was supposed to do. I still want to find the bags, they dont deserve to be with such scum, they deserve loving homes. Makes me sick.
They are searching for her, we have video footage with her face and everything on camera, license plates that are being run, and my detective has teamed up with the other detectives in the other areas that she has scammed. I have no doubt eventually she will get busted, and my bags will surface.

Fingers crossed, and fingers crossed Amex and my processor work out as I really dont want to have to go through the process of insurance its a pain! But I will if I have to, but thankfully for me her card swiped through, she signed and the last 4 digits matched the 4 digits that came up on her invoice. SO I should be covered and they should be going after her.
The fact that everything matches and the picture IDs are of the thief indicates that this isn't a quick "get what I want but can't afford scheme." These are professional thieves and the identity theft is pre-planned and has been executed for a while. (One doesn't just decide they need a couple of expensive items and manage to have IDs and c.c.'s with names that match the crook.)

If there are other high-end stores in your area, you might want to call around and see if she hit any of them.

While I don't know how the woman picked these bags out,one of the biggest warning signs to look for is someone just is buying for the sake of buying. If they walk in and pick a bunch of expensive items out without really looking at them or taking the time to think about their purchase, something is wrong. They just want to buy and get out quickly. And the nicer people that are dressed nice and give you a lot of stories about their personal life are the ones you need to look out for. They want to gain your trust and know how to do it.

Yes! Big red flag is someone who just snaps up FOUR bags like that without any hesitation and is super-friendly, has a backstory etc. Seems to me like a real "personal stylist" would have relationships with the manufacturers to get stuff on loan in exchange for the publicity, not combing consignment shops.

One thing you've got going for you is that the credit card companies have very sophisticated fraud operations now, with private investigators and forensic accountants who can identify patterns. Lots of times, they're the ones doing most of the work in these investigations, then they bring the info to police or prosecutors.
