I wish I could shop in the Madison store! The inventory seems amazing.
I didn't want to mention this in my previous post, but my SA said she's not seen one Kelly Lettre in PA and in fact she did not know about its existence till I brought it up. My lovely SA has since talked to the manager about the bag but I'm not so sure what she can do. I know a friend who visits the SF store regularly has been offered a lettre (and she declined it!) Maybe PA just didn't order many special edition bags?

Just a heads up that 95% of the SAs at Palo Alto are brand new to Hermes. So depending on who your SA is, I'm not really surprised that she never heard about the Lettre Kelly. Stock is dependent on what the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager orders during Podium. I don't know if the Lettre is available for Podium or it is considered as a Push Order (Paris HQ decides who gets that bag). If you want the Lettre, maybe ask your friend to get it for you?

Thank you so much for the info. I'm still working on vocabulary such as Podium vs. Push Order. Am I right to assume that most bags that arrived at the PA location are Push Order (like the store has no control what/when/how many)? And Podium is kind of special order, that the store or certain customers can request for specific designs.

My friend is currently waiting on a quota bag herself I think, and I'm afraid Kelly Lettre has become quite scarce lately. Anyway, I'm sure I would be equally happy with a bright color K25 and K28.

And in January I was greeted by at least two new SAs as I entered the store. They would kindly tell customers it's their first day/week (and they had to wait for a different SA to help them). The store could get quite busy even Monday in the afternoon. Best time to visit, imo, is a rainy day in the afternoon, the store is empty. I haven't been to Hermes SF since I had my little one. Would love to visit once it moves to its new location.

I only know how SF works and most of their inventory ordered for the new season is done during Podium, that can be loyal client's wish list items as well as what the SM deems that would sell well for their area. Push orders can be special runway pieces or harder to manufacture (Smooth Barenia is a good example). Special Order is something entirely different.

Here's a Thread on Podium Order (PO) vs Special Order (SO)

May I ask if you were ever offered a PO at SF store? When I asked my SA back then, she sounded like the store didn't take POs, or maybe because I was't VIP haha

I usually ask about the color and leather I’m after. My SA and the ASM tell me if it will be available for podium the upcoming season. The only one I’ve asked for was Barenia.
