I am hearing of so many issues with bags purchased during sale. Either bags are back ordered until 2022 or they come in poor condition. I think it is best to stick with YSL website. This is what I think anyways..

I ordered during the last event and my bag was back ordered until May. I decided to cancel and order direct from YSL. I think I avoided some headaches even though I didn’t get a gift card…:smile:

I did the same but I am yet to order from YSL website. Unless if someone REALLY needs something else from Nm or Saks, the GC event is a waste tbh. It’s also weird how the same bag is in stock at YSL website but are back ordered or not in stock at NMs or Saks. This makes me wonder if these department stores get returned, display items which is why the condition of the bag is such a hit or miss. I have been eyeing these sales for so long! But never seemed to get the bag I want, the combination of color and hardware or the size. And hearing about the conditions, makes me thinks it’s just better to order from the website directly. Or can try outlet malls. Some outlet malls offer online shopping. I bought a Valentino bag through an Italian outlet mall. And I am in the US. The customer service was amazing! But I didn’t hear back from a YSL outlet mall. I can keep pursuing… sorry for the long post!

Okay, I must be one of the lucky ones. I ordered through NM.com during the gift card event, before the price increase. The small black LouLou with gold hardware was backordered until May 2022. I got an email asking if I was willing to wait and I said yes. The bag arrived early, this past week. It was factory wrapped, in a box, perfect! I'm surprised but thrilled it worked out. I imagine I won't hear/see the gift card part until after a number of weeks.

Same here. I've bought two bags during the last two gift cards event and both were perfect. Now I have $1100 in gift cards to use towards another one!

I've learned not to trust that in stock date. I cancelled my saffran puffer because it wasn't supposed to be in stock for two months. Next thing you know, it's in stock on the NM website. The one I cancelled was purchased during a gift card event. The reorder wasn't, so I lost out on a gift card.
 
I ordered what I thought was a black/silver medium Niki on saks.com last week w/GC promo and Rakuten cash back (great deal) however what was shipped was black/black - it was my error I missed reading black HW on the site. I returned it next day and it's on it's way back. It was in perfect condition and beautifully packages in a box (not YSL box but it had the YSL sticker). I called a half dozen Saks stores and could not find a black/silver. I called my local Neiman's and was told they had one and it like the Saks one was pre-increase. My husband went to pick it up for me but when he got home it was large size. It was in ok condition but no box and just stuck in a regular NM bag. I called the salesperson the next day but he was off but the person I spoke with said just bring it in to exchange it. I said I'd be in on Sunday (today) and to please hold a "fresh" black/silver medium for me and she said she would. When I returned the large bag today, I was told they were sold out of the medium and that it is backordered. I said I'd just wait until after New Year's and left. I was annoyed. I walked out into the mall to do some shopping. I own some vintage YSL bags but nothing current but the Niki and puffer caught my eye recently. All of a sudden I see a Saint Laurent boutique. I must have walked past it many times but it was not on my radar. I decided to go in and had a wonderful young man assist me and they had the black/silver medium Niki which I bought - at full price - no GC or rebate. The bag was impeccably packed in a Saint Laurent box with a back ribbon in a beautiful shopping bag. I left feeling elated. The little things do make a difference but I would have liked my $400 Saks GC and 10% cash back from the Saks/Rakuten purchase! Oh well.

I got a mini puffer and also got one that was new and packaged very nicely...I have thankfully had mostly positive experiences with NM online. Hope my luck continues...and others have success too!

I totally agree with this. Plus, I've read that some people send back fakes as returns because they aren't trained to authenticate. I always worry about receiving a fake from department stores. I'd much rather purchase from YSL.

I bought a medium niki in the color storm from Nordstrom with in-store pick up. When I picked it up that Nordstrom bag was squished and the Niki was half in and half out of the dust bag. I took it home to have a good look at it and it had 2 pulled stitches on the back pocket so I returned it the next day. I'll buy direct from the department store or the boutique but never online from a department store again. This is not the first time I got a damaged YSL bag that was handled poorly from a department store.

Question, my GC had an expiration date on it, do yours? I tried to order another bag using it and it wouldn't take it.
