Calflu dear, thank you!! So helpful! Good to have this in mind, I always wondered between dept stores which is better in terms of opening a card. But I'm so afraid to open a card and then have it as a bait to get me to spend more money on future bag purchases

You can go into an Off 5th and apply. You must also have a regular Saks First Card. If you don't, you can get both at once.

I purchased a Chanel bag last week and they put it on a 6 month major purchase account.

Which saks did you get your bag from! I called multiple saks and I'm on the waitlist - medium flap black lambsjin ghw they said weeks to months....

I just got a Saks card. They gave me the same limit. I called customer service as I wanted to buy a m/l flap. They asked what limit I needed and I asked for $1000 over the price of the bag. A few minutes later I was approved. Try calling customer service. They were easy to deal with.

Wow I was thinking they gave me a small limit at $7500... which was enough for the 2 purses and wallet I bought... oops. The 10% discount was a good bonus and I just checked my account, I have 25k points ($150). There is something non Chanel I'm eyeing.

From this, if I wanted to buy something online, I should wait until Tuesday in order to get the bonus points?
