for real...im probably late to the party as i havent checked YSL in ages but i was looking for a white bag and wanted the normal Lou Lou and got a shock to see that! so do you think they will discontinue the old rounder version? thankfully still some available on Net a Porter etc

Yes, I noticed this too! I suspect this was done because it looks cheaper/easier to produce without having to have folded corners. On the plus side this design means there will be less corner wear, which the old design is prone to.

But I agree it takes the whole uniqueness out of the Loulou. Now it just looks like any quilted chain flap bag, like a Chanel or Gucci Marmot.

the only good thing is they removed the middle divider which i didnt like in the old version. I dont want to use my original Lou Lou now because it's going to be discontinued soon so I think im going to have to purchase the new one. Y'know for research purposes :')

It also comes with a mirror and a small like wallet pouch, which i dont really care about.

This bag is absolutely beautiful. I love the color. I was skeptical about the change but it actually looks good. I can see that they were going for the classic flap look. They could have kept the original version since they are two different bags.

Your post has got me into this bag! I was disappointed with the change at first but the more I look at it, the more I like the updated shape and size. I think it looks cleaner, more classic than a Gucci Marmot. I haven't seen it in person though, I hope the leather feels good. I have a beige loulou which I love, however it got corner wear so quickly and I also don't like how it looks crossbody so I tend to wear it as a shoulder bag only. I think the new loulou would look better as a crossbody. I always wanted a chanel white flap bag but don't want to take that risk with a white bag at the C price point, I feel more comfortable around the ysl price range! Looking forward to seeing it in person.

Yes I see that! I wanted a white Chanel too but could never drop that much on a bag. I think the new Lou Lou would look so good in white but as far as I can see they only have the Blanc Vintage colour which is a strange off white creamy colour.

I've seen that color shade in the old style loulou. It's very pretty in person and the gold hardware doesn't seem gaudy against it. I like a white bag that is not stark white, because then if it gets a bit dirty it's not so obvious. :)

I tried on the white color in a small today, I really like it! The bag felt really well made and had a good amount of space for my needs. The SA said they may or may not release this color in the next collection. Does anyone know if that's true? I thought the white would be a part of the classic line. I do want to buy it, but I have other purchases I would prioritize if this isn't the case!
