Gorgeous bag! I have been researching my next YSL and I'm torn between the Loulou Toy in black with gold hardware, or the Vinyle Round Camera bag in white/cream with gold hardware. Very different bags! The round is unique, but I'm worried I'll get bored of it after a while. There are no posts about it on PF that I could find! Does anyone have an opinion on it, and advice in general about these two bags?
I am loving my toy Loulou as a great everyday bag for the essentials. Well-made piece and wearable across running errands to brunch to date night. Havent had it long enough to properly comment wrt wear-and-tear, but have to say its been one of my more carefree designer bags. Highly recommend the toy Loulou!

Hello all :) I have just purchased my first Loulou toy bag direct from YSL today - roll on Friday for delivery!!

I have been scouring the internet today and links on this forum but I can't seem to find a strap for my dark beige Loulou toy - I really want a strap like the regular sized Loulou's. Can anyone help a girl out? I'm in the UK.

There was a period when I was incredibly obsessed with this bag, constantly yearning for it. However, unexpectedly, my fondness for it waned overnight. I developed a distaste for the oversized YSL logo and how excessively prevalent it has become. As I've grown older, I find myself gravitating towards more discreet and understated bags.

Hi! Are two black small loulou in diff hardwares (gold and silver) redundant?
To me, yes if they are both the same size but maybe not to somebody else. The bags where I have about 3 or 4 same style but different colors and hardware and I do have a smidge of regret for not having less so I could have another bag of a different style. Get what makes YOU happy though.

I agree. I’ve done this in the past and regretted it. I adore all of the color and hardware combos that YSL puts out so it’s easy to fall into this trap. I think in different sizes would be helpful or gold hardware with the dark beige and black with silver - something like that. Also agree with the last statement that if it makes you happy that’s all that matters. I guess I’m not too helpful haha. Another option is if you use one for a while and see how you get along with the bag. If you love it and it’s a go-to then it can justify it even more. Good luck and share photos please!

Funny, I was just going to jump on this thread to say how much I still love my toy Loulou after 4+ years!

I get it….the whole “quiet luxury” thing is invading our tastes and I did get an APC that is more under-the-radar to scratch that itch. But I used my Loulou for running around today and it made me re-discover how easy and nice it is to use.

And reading about the history of the logo, how it was created by a Ukrainian graphic designer in 1961 who became known as one of the greatest graphic artists of the time helps me appreciate it!

I love everything about this post! I have a toy loulou in black hardware so I’d like to think that it passes as quiet luxury haha! I’m so happy to hear about the longevity of your bag. I was just wondering if this bag will remain classic or trendy because of YouTuber influencers but it’s just so easy to wear. I wish it was a little bigger but we can’t have it all. Thanks for sharing about the history of the logo too! I loveeee the logo so it makes it even more special!

I have the small and really want to add a toy size too if it fits my phone. Honestly, it's looks great and it's so versatile too, works perfectly well for my lifestyle. Trends come and go, I don't follow them. When a certain item works for me, I'll wear it forever. This bag seems like a classic though in my opinion!!

UPDATE

My Loulou Toy arrived and guess what - it is damaged!! There is a small black mark on the back of the bag and some rather poor stitching! I was gutted, especially for the price :( I then went into the city to look at the bags in Harvey Nichols and looked at the bags on display and to be honest I wasn't all that impressed with the condition of the bags there.

I have since arranged return of the Loulou which will be collected today and whilst I was in the city, I went into Louis Vuitton and bought the Felicie Pochette. Gutted about the Loulou, but for the price paid, I expect better quality control from a luxury brand.

I couldn't even speak to someone at client services as their recorded message said they are "exceptionally closed" whatever that means!
