I went to the Rome store at the end of June and got a Birkin. I live there though and I'm an old customer. But since there are no tourists around (VERY strange sight!!) maybe there are more bags available, I don't know......

Congratulations on the Birkin ...!!
I had the impression that they did have stock, when I asked about a Kelly they did not not say “no” right away but asked for specifics. When I said that I am looking for a small size, they told me that these are the highest in demand and they would be calling their local customers first...
Rome without tourists is a strange sight indeed. It is such a beautiful city and now you can actually see the attractions! We have decided to go now once every 4-6 weeks as long as the circumstances permit...

I haven't been to rome in a few years, but this year we definitely wanted to come because of the lack of tourists. It will be nice to actually see the city.

Hi lovelies,

I'm going to Naples, Rome and Palermo next week and I would love to get a Kelly Sellier 25/28 in a neutral colour (black or white preferred, would consider gold or grey too). I haven't bought a K or a B before - previously have bought other bags at Hermes stores in different European cities as walk-ins. I'm super nervous - any tips / experience would be welcomed! I will buy a twilly if there is a bag and maybe a card holder but not too keen to buy other items beforehand.

I was there today and had a TERRIBLE experience. The SA was rude and beyond pushy. I first went to see shoes and there was nothing I wanted. Then I asked for a picotin and she told me it was a very in demand bag. But before she could check she suggested I go to the Home Department and look at textiles and home items ? My mom decided to ask about a lacquer box she saw in Vegas and she didn’t have it but she had a bigger one that was triple the price. We said no thank you then she said I would suggest you take this one I dont want to push but it’s the best option for you. I felt that the eu$1700 lacquer box was the ticket to a picotin. Before taking me to the bags she asked if I had purchased in Rome before and I said yes but that my main store was fsh. Anyway she took me to the bags and asked if I wanted anything other then the picotin I said a mini K but I’m not sure I would get in Rome but I’d also take a mini lindy or the picotin. I was open to colors but no yellow or orange. She brings me a yellow jyspiere. I said it’s a beautiful bag but it’s a terrible color. I said this is not tie bag I want thank you and I left. Maybe I should’ve worn my B but my arms were just sore and honestly I was so annoyed about the pressure to buy home wear, if she had been more up front I would have happily dropped the $$ on home. Any way I wish you better luck. I’m very nice and kind but I’m also not stupid and considering I have over 10 bags in my h collection I’m not new to the game be honest And I’ll drop the $$. I’ll try Florence if not I’ll go to Paris soon and see my SA.

Dear Coco, maybe you should try again because you must have caught someone who had a bad day. I was there again today and received the same wonderful treatment as before. I was shown many, many beautiful bags, the hard to come by “Minis” or B/Ks were not available though or reserved for customers with a long history. I even talked to the head of the bag department. They really went out of their way trying to find me something I like, but I am a difficult customer because I already have quite a collection.
They have a special scarf shop in a nearby building which is absolutely worth visiting with a super cool video installation. I might go again tomorrow just to look at the installation again.

I’m sorry to hear your experience too. I hope you will have better luck in Florence.

I managed to buy a Lindy 26 in Florence last summer - I went in twice on the same day! First SA said they *might* have one in stock and implied that I should purchase other items before showing it to me. I made my H shopping in Venice already so at that point I didn’t have anything else I’d like to buy. So she went to stock room briefly and came back and said oh it’s already sold.

So a little later on I went back, luckily first SA was on lunch break so another SA assisted me. I knew their tactics so I tried on some shawls then asked about L26. Then tada!

That was my experience, was okay but wasn’t excited about the service.

I bought a black constance 24 at the beginning of the month in Rome, was able to choose between two (but I'm local).
Kellys and Birkins unless you'Re a local in Italy now will be very difficult as they've changed their system
