Hi all! I'm in Rome and thought I'd post some inventory. I only asked for Calvi, Bastia, and wallets in the leather section.

Calvi: only black and lime (total)
Bastia: only gold
Kelly wallet: bleu zephyr
Constance wallet: bordeaux (few days ago they had blue paon with enamel but it sold).

On display:
Saw some bright two toned garden parties. Large gold Evelyn. Cherche midis. Not much was on display. There was a boot charm in the SLG section.

Saw someone being shown a gold Kelly on Fri or Sat.

I did manage to find a scarf that Paris was all sold out of.

Passed by some vintage/second hand shops too. Nicla (small selection and mostly larger sizes B35/40.. had a 28k gold courcheval but not the greatest condition), Gioilleria (a tan shade 28k ostrich in the window and a blue paon Kelly.. didn't go inside yet), and another one I can't think of the name (only a larger black box Kelly). All around the same area and within a short distance from Hermes.

Whoa! Do they allow duty free shopping upon arrival or only upon departure?

Oops.. forgot to mention this was FCO. I think only upon departure in gate E. I'm not 100% about shopping for arrivals, but they did ask for boarding pass. Their computers were down and was told we would get email receipts (have not received yet).

I went to t1 Hermes first and it was not duty free, but was given vat refund forms (claim vat refunds prior to Gate E). Gate E requires you to pass through passport checks for a stamp.

Hi all,

I shall be travelling to Rome for the petit h event in early May (as in a day trip... how far would you go for H items?! Lol)
I am very obsessed with the gondola and pizza charms so would just want some intel about stock~ as the event started in April I am afraid i would be too late for that!!

I didn't expect any bag (no matter how much I want a C!) as I had the worst experience in Milan 2 yrs ago! I saw one orange L30 with "display only" plate only, no GP/ bolide/ P whatsoever. And SAs didn't seem to bother to talk to us when my cousin tried on some equestrian clothing; the SA let her try on and then stood afar and started chatted with her colleagues, there was a long time when we stood there and biting our lips as my cousin was ready to take the clothing but we felt very much neglected and didn't want to wave and dared not to walk up to the SA as she kept a distance. After contemplating, we put the jacket back on rack ourselves and thanked her on the way out. My cousin asked me the night if she should still take the clothing as she very much hoped that could help get me a bag but I said to her this was not going anywhere anyway. Given the lower euro price as compared to our hometown, I asked her to just get it so she went back to the store the next day and quietly paid and we left.

I am hoping Rome would be nicer to me as I really want those petit h charms, so if anyone knows please shout out! I don't wanna break my own heart not getting the charms and seeing SAs rolled their eyes to me again....

Many thanks!!!!

I'm heading over to rome, florence, and venice around October. I've done alot of research about searching for a kelly in rome and it appears to be impossible for tourists? Is that the case still now? The things I were reading were a while back and I wasn't sure if it's changed yet. I read that rome has the 2nd largest hermes store, so I assume there would be more selections of bags..? Can anyone shed some light? Also, I'm hoping to either get a lindy 30. Would that be possible in Rome? TIA!

It very well still is the case even with the new Grande Dame boutique but is possible for a non local to get a coveted bag. I have visited Rome every year for the past 10 years during peak travel season and the bags are always Display Only (jyspsiere, GP, Double Sens, etc included) The only bags on the shelf for sale were canvas bags and men's. I have a friend who lives in Asia but had visited Rome about 3 times prior and bought from the same SA. She was able to buy a B35 when she purchased a calfskin CDC, shoes, and H Heure watch.

Thanks for your reply! But I guess it will be harder for someone who isn't going back to Rome consistently.

I stopped by the Milan store last Saturday to check out some Evies but they were sold out!!? The SA said they're supposed to get some new ones in mid week. Has anyone been to the store recently? I will be back in Milan tomorrow, Friday, and hope I'll be able to score one as my first Hermes bag :)

I an totally second that. The thing is, they have a fairly better stock than other boutiques in Italy but they tend to offer the bags to locals or generally Italians. Tourists can get a bag offered, but from my experience this was only the case when costumers splurged a very high amount on other items...

The Milan boutique is a case of itself. They do have bags, they are just funny about it sometimes... I've never had a bad experience there... it's just the way they operate that drives me crazy *hahaha*

Yes, I think I'll start off by looking at some accessories first on the ground level before making my way upstairs to the handbags. Fingers crossed they've restocked if they really were out. :T

Birkin and Kelly will be hard but if you buy another item then Lindys should be easy.
