thanks for sharing! Yea i think she has several two tones, a YG, and a RG. ugh now i think i need a RG one some time in the future....
I just think when typing things in the forum threads we should think about the perception of others which is as important as our intent in typing it. It bothered me that the two people you chose to mention as “chic and classy” with their all gold Rolex’s were white, then you listed two black actresses and said they didn’t look as good for wearing two tone. Maybe I’ve lived in a country/state too long where prejudices and racism are all too common place but I found the initial post offensive. It reminded me of the black and white children that were given two dolls one black, and one white, and for some reason each child said the black doll was bad. I took my time responding because I didn’t want to be offensive in my response. One thing to remember especially when dealing with celebrities is that they are rich enough to own multiple luxury items. If you just google Rihanna for example, many pics come up with her in her all gold Rolexes. Since we never know who is on the other side of the computer screen, I think representation is very important. The op might have brown skin like mine and appreciate seeing the watch on people of that complexion. Not trying to offend, but I think it’s important to mention that sometimes what we type can be perceived differently by different audiences.

Have you tried on an all steel one, by any chance? I think it would add a great contrast to all your YG jewelry. It will make the watch stand out, but not necessarily compete with everything else.

Admittedly, i am not a fan of all gold Rolexes. I grew up seeing it everywhere ( be it authentic or fake) that I think i grew tired of it, if that makes sense. Other beautiful gold watches you may want to also comsider (if you are open to other brands- Cartier Panthere or Bulgari Serpenti)

I personally worry about what all gold might look like with continued use. All the pre owned ones I’ve seen for resale look pretty beat with scratches and nicks and maybe even a dent or two. I did see an all gold Cartier that I thought was exceptionally beautiful.

I personally thought Rihanna looked amazing with RG and YG, and I read other posts as agreeing with my viewpoint. Will go back and reread

I don’t mind bashed up watches; they have a lot of character lol

@NLVOEWITHLV, thanks for clarifying below! Hugs

My comment was specific to one person, I read what they wrote which is why I quoted them. They stated two white actresses were chic and classy because they wear all gold Rolexes. Honestly a watch doesn’t make one chic or classy. In the next statement, they mentioned that Rihanna and Zendaya who are two talented, beautiful, highly successful, intelligent, young black women didn’t look good because they were wearing two tone Rolexes. Both are so wealthy they can easily afford all gold Rolexes, Rihanna has a few.

I only made my comment because I thought it extremely biased that of all the actresses I’ve seen wearing two tone Rolexes two black ones were singled out to imply that they were less than the white actresses just based on a watch choice. I may be too sensitive, but I think the chosen examples were in poor taste.

I should hope it goes without saying I didn’t mean to hurt anyone. I’m actually a woman of color myself. My mother is also one and doesn’t wear two tones. and I follow her style.... I just felt weird posting a pic of my mom

those were the only celebrities I could think of off the top of my head who wore two tones. After a bit of research I see that Whitney port who is white wears a two tone and I think it washes her out, consistent w my earlier statement. Also Selena Gomez owns an all rose gold and I love it on her. But we were talking about YG watches.
my comment was quick and I didn’t mean to imply that any of those women have bad taste. I just wanted to show examples of real women wearing the watch that are easy to Google.

Most of the women I work with and live near are white and wear two tones. Which is why I said I see it more often irl. I just didn’t want to post pics of them because those are not celebrities you can Google.

I get it, I didn’t think that was your intent which was why I didn’t want to offend in my response. I just find that sometimes when I’m typing things get lost in translation or I’m unable to convey my intent as well as I thought. I was just saying the way it was initially posted just seemed to paint one race as classy and chic and the other as not so much. Thank you, I appreciate your explanation! :)

I have tried on an all steel before and sadly I just didn’t like the way it looked with my jewellery :confused1:  I actually love steel / white gold as think it looks so fresh and when I see ladies / gents with a fresh steel with a fun face I think wow that is stunning! but with my jewellery there’s something just not quite right about the look imo.

@bagaddict17 now I want to see your ring! I would be embarrassed to ask, but this is a jewelry forum so… can you show it off?

here you go @NLVOEWITHLV ! Excuse the rogue pic… just a quick one I snapped whilst out for dinner with DH. Love any opportunity for a yellow diamond snap! Can’t wait until I choose my watch to feature in the pics!

Wow! Love this! IMO no gold Rolex would outshine these rings! Only complement :D

but, so would a two tone, as per @hers4eva and others!

It is beautiful! I think it would look great with an all gold with the champagne face! If you’re interested check out fashionphile, they have an all gold Rolex for sale. This will at least give you an idea of what it looks like with use.
