honestly both.

the two tone is everywhere here in the US. you especially see it on every other influencer, not that that matters to a lot of people but i don't like having what everyone has.

I just think the YG really pops. For example --

Morgan Stewart and Minka Kelly have both owned the YG rolex ..... and I just think it looks so classy and chic. Whereas Rihanna and Zendaya wear two tones and I just don't think they look as good **shrug** The two tones kind of blend together and looks muddy to me unless you're right up close.

that being said, HOWEVER I do occasionally miss my two tone. and may one day get a preowned ladies' 28 mm in a fun dial color.
Rihanna has an all yellow gold Daydate Rolex and an all rose gold Daydate Rolex in addition to her two tone, js.

I can only recommend a full gold Rolex as a watch for every day to a limited extent. The wear and tear is enormous, not only that they are easily scratched but also that the bracelet wear out very quickly, regardless of which bracelet it is. I have several gold Rolexes and I change them regularly to avoid excessive wear and tear and still ...
The two-tone versions that I have are much more durable, the case and parts of the bracelet are made of steel and are nowhere near as easy to scratch. So full gold only if you don't wear it every day. If you want to wear a gold Rolex every day, you'd better buy at least three of them! (lol)

Wow, I have never thought about that. Thank you for sharing insight and a reminder that gold is easier to scratch than steel. I guess it makes sense why I see so many gorgeous preowned gold Rolexes but they seem in not-so-great shape.

I don’t wear my two toned Rolex every day, but when I do, I find myself lately bumping into things even just sitting at the table eating. That would concern me. Not enough to stay away from the all-gold one day though

@Tempo I agree with @bisousx! Thank you so much for raising this. This is something I never even thought about.

Sorry if I’m getting the terminology wrong but I don’t have any “exposed” gold jewellery, only half of my e ring which is non-pave is just gold and wow that can get scratched.I suppose if I had a love bracelet or something I may have been alive to this!

Thankfully with work from home I don’t think I would wear a watch all day every day, but I do intend to wear it for a few hours at least every day so this has really made me think. As I said before this is my first (but no doubt not my last!) big watch purchase so maybe for something everyday a more durable two toned would be better.

As I say you guys are really making the case for both

Hello all

I would love if you could kindly share your thoughts on my latest predicament.

I don’t currently wear a watch on a regular basis. I have two which I inherited from my grandmother, but none of them are (currently) quite my style, for sentimental reasons I also don’t want to wear any on a daily basis and both are white gold / steel (Which I don’t feel match with my jewellery)

I’m looking to buy a rolex for everyday wear and I’m trying to decide whether to go for an all gold or a two tone (probably a date just 31 with jubilee bracelet, fluted bezel and no diamonds). All of my jewellery is gold.

In theory, my heart is absolutely set on the all gold. However I have three reservations.

The first is my engagement ring and wedding band are both all gold with yellow diamonds. I love not having my left hand two busy at the moment because my yellow diamond engagement ring really is the absolute star of the show. I love that nothing detracts from her. I worry that the all gold watch would almost out flash my rings, which I do not want and makes me think a two tone would be better?

The second is is an all gold watch just too flashy for everyday? i Love gold so much but am undecided.

The third of course is the price. I will get whichever one I love the most, but I also am conscious that the oystersteel / gold is about 1/3 of the price, so it would be nice to put the difference to other purchases If there is not that much in it pro/con wise between the two.

I’m trying to get my head in the right space before I go into the boutique and go crazy  but it may be I won’t know until I try! Let me know what you think!

Hi  there,

I remember your beautiful ring:happydance:

I think it’s best to try on the two different rolexes near your ALL yellow diamond set to compare.

For wearing everyday, I would go with two tone, less scratches and much lighter.

For wearing just for dress all gold would work since not on all day so won’t get too many scratches and it won’t feel so heavy on all day long.

I love how my diamond marker, yellow gold two tone 31mm Rolex matches with my yellow diamond with halo colorless diamonds. Both jewelry got kind of the two tone effect.

I am sure whatever you decide you will love her  just like your beautiful ring.

thank you lovely you have made me blush! Ms Canaries will be delighted to hear someone remembers their beauty (they really are my pride and joy!)

I am conscious of any watch detracting from their beauty. I love how they (particularly my e ring) just carry my whole look at the moment, as they should! They bring me such joy!

You are so right on the weight. That is something else I have considered as I don’t wear a watch currently so will I find the weight an issue:confused1: I would hope I would get used to it!

Please share a pic of your watch with your ring! I would love to see for inspiration!
