Just a quick update: I cut the leather on one side but discovered that the handle is attached with metal under the leather! The metal runs all the way through the handle so that explains why it's so uncomfortable when it hangs on your arm! I'm still determined to remove the handles though, so I've asked my coworker to help me cut the metal. He hasn't had time so that's why I haven't posted any pics yet. Hopefully this week though. I really love this bag but don't see me ever carrying it by the handles, so that's why I'm removing them. I tried folding then over the top like one poster recommended but it's too wide then. Anyways, I promise to post pics as soon as it's done. Thank you for your input!

You do you girl! I'm anxious to see your result!

OK, my coworker was finally able to cut the handles off for me today! I expected him to just cut the loop of metal securing the handle to the connecting ring, but it ended up being less traumatic to just cut the handle then peel it off. It was rather nerve wracking seeing him chop the handle, but I'm sooo happy with the results!! You can't tell at all that I altered the bag, one would just assume the handles were tucked in.

How clever, to just leave the metal rings on there since they don't show unless you look inside the bag. You've got a smart co-worker! Looks nice!

Looks great & less invasive. I think this was a great way to go. Looks good! Thanks for sharing your process & result!

What a great outcome! Such a smart idea to leave the rings hanging. Now your bag is perfect for you. Congrats!

Oh my goodness! You are brave!

I totally understand though, I had this bag but didn't like how the handles hung on it either so I returned it.
I don't mind them on my medium rogues but they just don't seem to work as well on this smaller size.

Enjoy!

It looks great! You are brave but I certainly understand why you did it. I have the large black rogue with small rivets and while the handles are beautiful, they are a pain. I never use them so tuck them in, out "of the way". Not. They are still in the way when I try to get things out of the outside pockets.

This is the most expensive bag I've ever purchased though and I just don't have the guts to do what you did. Maybe in 5, 10 years? Lol.
