Hmm...the picture advertised is not the first generation black rogue, but the description says "black/gold". The additional model pics show a totally different bag. Looks like the Taxi tote. I hope it's the first generation like you want.

I was talking to my SA last week and she mentioned the little inventory they had left at JAX was gone. Luckily I was able to get mine in September.

Yeah, I forgot to mention that the additional model pics are of one of the totes, not the Rogue, sorry. But the Rogue description seems correct. I thought that color was a first generation one, but it sounds like you really know your Rogues, lol.

I finally purchased a 25 Rogue in Saddle and even though she's dreadfully heavy, I love her! However, I'm finding the shorter handles to be a problem. They're really hard, so it's not comfortable to carry the bag with the handles resting on my arm. So, I'm using it as a shoulderbag only. But what to do with the short handles? I tucked them into the side pockets but it makes getting things in and out of those pockets a pain, and I really use those heavily. I also noticed that an imprint of the handles was starting to show up on the sides. I also tried just leaving them out, but they're really in the way and they are causing the leather along the top edge to curl. SO, I'm seriously thinking of just removing those handles. The leather that connects them to the bag is thin enough that I can just cut through them and remove it. Do you think this is too drastic? Has anyone done this? Obviously it'll kill any resale value, but I love the bag, so I'm probably not going to sell it. Thoughts?

Quick picture, if you haven't cut the handles off yet. Have to say, my heart did a little splitter-splatter when I read that too[emoji853] I just lay mine across the top when I carry. I'm not in and out of it dozens of times, but this might work for you.IMG_1482016438.009567.jpg

The first generation black Rogue is the bag with the lock. The succeeding generation Rogues do not have the lock.
Yes, I know the pic doesn't match but they had the original one at one time as well as the mineral one. I was hoping they were getting rid of inventory? I canceled my order and bought a 1st generation oxblood on eBay. I now have the mineral, hay/ostrich, and oxblood from the first round!

Why do some of you prefer the first generation? I preferred the smooth leather trim/zipper of the newer ones. I'm curious. [emoji848]
I love the look of the textured leather on the handles, zipper and hangtags. It gives the bag some additional style without having any other details on the bag like applique and stickers. IMO

I have not purchased another Rogue since the 1st generation black and chalk bags because I cannot get past the plain leather.

Does anyone have issues of tear in stitching where the bag folds in the middle? There are 4 points that attaches the middle zipper structure. My whiplash 36 has major tears on all 4 points, stitches are coming loose and suede leather is ripped a little. I'm sending it out for repair, but now I checked my patchwork rogue I just bought 2 weeks ago, and I see a little tears at same spots. It is not major yet, but I'm very concerned that this will only get worse.......I checked my other rogues, which were used more often than the patchwork and they are fine. I don't know if this is a common problem with Rogue bags? Or I just got unlucky with these 2 bags I have? I don't know what I should do with the patchwork, I'll show it to my SA when I'm bringing in whiplash for repair.......

Could you post a photo? I would be concerned as well.

Just a quick update: I cut the leather on one side but discovered that the handle is attached with metal under the leather! The metal runs all the way through the handle so that explains why it's so uncomfortable when it hangs on your arm! I'm still determined to remove the handles though, so I've asked my coworker to help me cut the metal. He hasn't had time so that's why I haven't posted any pics yet. Hopefully this week though. I really love this bag but don't see me ever carrying it by the handles, so that's why I'm removing them. I tried folding then over the top like one poster recommended but it's too wide then. Anyways, I promise to post pics as soon as it's done. Thank you for your input!
