Part of me thinks that they are keeping her isolated until her jubilee. The jubilee is such a big deal celebration that I think they want to ensure that it happens and will take great care with her health. At the same time, she’s not the type of person to shy away from her duties. She looked good on camera during her video appearances.

Makes me nervous, but I also thought (and hoped) that maybe they just want her to have a low key few weeks/months. She did look a little unsteady the last couple of times we saw her and she was using a walking stick. It may be that it is her back that has been bothering her all this time.

It will be interesting to see how Christmas goes - who, when and where!

I think she’s a lovely lady. What a shame she’s had such an awful year. The loss of the love of her life, Prince Philip, and all the controversy surrounded a certain grandson and his wife. I hope she makes it safely to next year for her Platinum Jubilee. Actually I hope she makes it a good few more years, and that she gets some well-deserved rest. I’m not really a monarchist, but Queen Elizabeth II has my utmost respect and admiration. Nearly seventy years of service is unbelievable.

News on Christmas Day:

British authorities on Saturday said they arrested a man who brought a weapon onto the grounds of Windsor Castle as Queen Elizabeth and her family celebrated Christmas inside.

The 19 year-old alleged intruder is being held on charges that he breached or trespassed a protected site and was carrying an "offensive weapon," according to local police.

"We can confirm security processes were triggered within moments of the man entering the grounds and he did not enter any buildings," Rebecca Mears, Thames Valley Police superintendent, said. "Members of the Royal Family have been informed about the incident. We do not believe there is a wider danger to the public."
