IMO yes, her inaction makes her look weaker and weaker. She and Charles may want the large celebrations, parties, etc. but a certain percentage of the people will not support it. Until certain issues are dealt with in a forthright manner, she’ll look like she is selfishly hanging on to set the record. In a pandemic, that kind of ego seems silly and unwise. Phillip had the right idea, leave while still ahead.

The Queen has left Windsor for Balmoral for her summer break her first without Philip but I’m sure she will enjoy the solitude and escape from covid until October
She grew up in Ireland, but then went to England for nursing school, before moving to the US after getting married.
Once when she and I were visiting Buckingham Palace gates, the Queen drove in and waved!!

Ugh. Why does everyone in the family get a medal when they haven’t done anything? It cheapens the meaning of the medal for the others who have actually earned it (like the frontline and emergency personnel).
