I feel like it’s a mix of him hiding money in others names and taking care of his kids. Even though she’s just a mistress the kid is his and that makes them a automatic target for many governments/countries so I’d imagine that both his mistress and kid have a high level of protection 24/7.

4 children she has at least one set of twins

I heard a story a while back (probably NPR) about Russians and where they park/hide their assets. One thing they talked about was a mistress of Putin who had Very Expensive real estate - in the middle east and other places - in her name (like the highest price condo in the world or something to that effect). As I recall she had a child (Putin's). It wasn't understood whether the assets were really hers or just him hiding money by putting it in her name. I guess this is a different woman from the one you're referring to?

Yes, a different one, per Google. He and his ex-wife have 2 daughters, the woman in the middle has one daughter and the gymnast has 3 or 4. And apparently he denies the kids except for the 2 with his ex-wife. The article I saw spoke only of the gymnast and her kids, though I imagine that he has made security arrangements for them all. Frankly, I haven’t bothered keeping up on his personal life, though I knew about his divorce. Wish it was still possible to virtually ignore him.

I mean she’s 95 so it’s not really surprising that her health is declining. I wonder if the “sudden” decline was brought on by Covid more long term side effects. The few senior citizens I know who had it really struggled with things that would normally be easy for them pre Covid. One would get winded so easily walking short distances that was a fraction of what they would normally walk, it’s taken him nearly a year to get back to normal physical activity without being totally wiped out. Another has struggled immensely with significant cognitive decline. You feel bad because they get frustrated with relativity easy tasks like logging into a computer program. I wonder if it somehow fast tracked some other health issues that we’re unaware of. I think that she has too much pride in her position to use a wheelchair because she doesn’t want it to possibly damage the image of the firm. I wish she would step down and just enjoy life but I don’t see her doing that, she’ll work to the very end.

Seems like age is catching up with her faster than before

Felt funny liking this one - of course, I don’t like like it, but I agree. Like probably half of the world, I worry about her. Read that there may even be a question as to whether or not she will be feeling strong enough to go to PP’s service. Hopefully if she’s not feeling in tip top shape that she will agree to a wheelchair so that she can at least be there. So far she has understandably refused to use one publicly.

All of this is all the more reason that I’d like to smack that fool Harry upside the head. He horsed around when he could have taken time to go to his grandfather and now he is doing it with his grandmother. He should be on the phone with whomever has to the keys to the kingdom over there to find a couple of days where he can slip quietly in to see her and let her meet their kids and then go away again. No press, no production, but a private family gathering. I bet they could pull that off without the whole world knowing.

Can you imagine the questions when Archie and Lili are older - “oh, cool, your great grandma was the Queen! What was she like?” “Oh, we don’t know. We never met her because our father was making stupid orange person videos instead of making sure that we could see her and the rest of the family who never really met us, either.” “Mom says they are racist and cruel so she doesn’t want to go, either.”

(Sorry - couldn’t stop myself!)

Queen Elizabeth II is 96 next month and she's doing phenomenally well considering the unimaginable heartache from the loss of Prince Philip (and the severe strain caused by the bl**dy Harkles and Prince Andrew........losers, all those three).

Agree, it would be lovely to see her relax a bit but, as you say, she'll work on to the end as much as she can, that's her nature. I'm thrilled that she's got such strength of mind and backbone because she's so important to the UK and such a lovely lady but she really deserves some peace and quiet now and hopefully, after appearing at Prince Philip's memorial service, she'll ease back considerably. I think she may, and perhaps just do a few Zoom meetings.

All her life of service, 70 years, she's been a rock for many of us, always there, graceful and dignified. I hope that she'll be around for a good few years yet, even if not in public as time goes by.

Beautifully said!! - the Queen kept a wheelchair at Buckingham palace for her mother when she was older but the Queen mum also refused to use one in public up right up to her death at 101 - the queens aunt Princess Alice lived to 102 and is the oldest royal of any royal family ever I’m hoping the Queen can overtake her and make 103!!!!

It makes sense for her to do this sort of engagement but step back from the big engagements. Just the difference in walking required for the two is huge! Let her do what she can do to maintain her dignity and continue serving. She's got heirs for the other stuff!

She is of the generation that won’t give in - my mother is the same - did you know Camilla broke a bone in her foot a few years ago and used a wheelchair for 6 weeks but the Queen will not use a wheelchair in public if she could only compromise she would be able to enjoy more of her jubilee events
