I am reading several books on the Queen now - enjoying one by A N Wilson - he describes the Queen as inclusive dutiful and punctilious and Charles as a scatter gun dabbler who could never apply himself to anything but harsh but he does then provide a very long list of examples where Charles showed petulance impatience and lack of perseverance. He had hopefully matured from the days he claimed the Queen was a cold mother and Phillip a billy as a father - sounding just like Harry in fact

I just want to say that I greatly appreciate all these wonderful photos of the late Queen, her parents, and her grandparents! I am a staunch British Royalty fan.
The thread on European royalty made me want to explore a bit more so I thought I would start exploring more on the Queens parents and both sides of their family tree
Prince Phillips sisters were all banned from the wedding as it was too close to the end of the war - 3 had married German aristocrats who were members of the Nazi party - one Sophie had Hitler to tea

How interesting. I would have said the opposite, that the Queen and Philip had a broad and wide scattergun approach to supporting things and that Charles has learnt to keep his focus tighter to fewer causes.
She looks like her mother, similar jaw and mouth…..why on earth would Lady Colin think that someone with eight children would decide on surrogacy for a nineth? Nonsense.
