I just bought a new Rioni purse - my fourth from that brand.

I thought I'd make a new thread for me and others who want to post pics and experiences with that brand.

While I'm preparing my pics, I thought I'd post links to other threads with pics and reveals and stuff about Rioni.

So, when buying this purse, I had a specific brief in mind. I wanted a Rioni purse (good quality covered canvas) that would handle rain without any problems - no spotting of leather and no soaking through. I also wanted a tote that would stand on its own. I liked the LV Neverfull, but wanted a tote that didn't look like another designer purse. What I decided on was the Rioni Signature Black Tall Tote Shopper:

Next was the problem of acquiring it. There are many Rioni Aristo purses on the market for a good price, and good availability of Signature Brown. But I had to search for a while to find a low priced one of this type.

The lowest price I found was from Treasure Baskets of Albany. Good, I thought, it's in NY, so fairly close to where I am at the moment. Shipping should be quick. I ordered on the web on Thursday last week. I didn't get an e-mail from them about processing the purchase on Friday like the website claimed, but got it on Sunday night with an apology. It's vacation time, so these things happen. I got a few more e-mails about processing and shipping, then a notice it had shipped on Tuesday. I got a tracking code. It was shipped by UPS, and came on Friday as the tracking promised. Now here's where it gets interesting. I had noticed at some point that it wasn't sent from NY as I had expected, but rather from California, and I started thinking maybe it was shipped directly from Rioni, which is in California. Here's the package:

The packing order - or whatever it's called - in a plastic pouch on the outside of the box, was from Chateau Anne in California. I looked it up online - they have a website. Although Rioni isn't mentioned there, it's quite obvious that it's Rioni's mother company. The box also had Rioni tape all over it. Well sized box BTW, though no packing peanuts nor air inflated stuff. The order also said that the order had been phoned in. So basically - I ordered from a cheaper website and got it shipped directly from Rioni. Not bad!

So I start to look at it.

A zippered pocket on one side and two pouches on the other. Also note what's inside - it's a folded up dust cover.

But then I remembered something on Rioni's description I hadn't quite understood. Something about magnets. So I started tugging at it, and this is what I found - on both sides:

Nice! That's even more pockets.

Love the pockets on the outside too. here's another view:

What I had been a bit apprehensive about was the fact that the monogram is green. I wasn't sure I'd like it. Once I saw it, I did, and was very glad I got it. It's not too wide and very tall, so it's a different Tote than a Neverfull - sort of small tote/handbag.

Inspired by a friend's gripe that she bought a tote too small for her ipad, I figured I'd do some visual size comparisons for the Tall Tote Shopper.

A 10 inch netbook disappears completely inside it, so I'm holding it up to show the dimensions compared to the tote:

An Ipad is about the size of this netbook.

A 17,3 inch Toshiba, on the other hand, peeks out the top:

I also tried an ageing Dell of unknown size, and it too peeked up the top, just not as much.

I know the Small Boston will fit a 7 inch tablet. Not sure if it'll fit a 10 inch anything. I hope more people will post pics of what fits what in terms of purses, and on this thread, Rioni purses.

Oh, and my Small Boston was 60. Unfortunately the postage made up the difference. Since I'm in the US now, acquisition is much easier!

It should. I've been hoping to get my hand on one to test. Prices vary widely. I paid 100 and 5 for shipping.

I've had LV speedy's, 30 & 35 and I can honestly say I love this bag a lot better! It's definitely well made, looks great and the size is perfect! I have the satchel that resembles the Tivoli ordered. I'll try to get around to posting pics when it arrives. They're wonderful bags.:smile:

Forgot to say - my Nokia N8 which is a fairly big smartphone, fits into the rouched pouch inside the Tall Tote Shopper. It had a case on it, and fit with no problems. That phone doesn't usually fit inside purse pouches for cell phones.

Did you know that if you go to the Rioni site and request a full catalog from them, you get a really nice glossy and substantial color catalog of all their lines. I got one from them enjoyed looking through their lines. There's a little bit for everyone, the same styles in different canvases. I remember seeing "Chateau Anne" as part of their address at the back of the catalog.

mm. I'm not sure, but I'm going to assume the catalog has everything the website has? The wallet pics are laid out with dimensions, and how it looks opened. I don't know about the website but the catalog also has the lines: Virtue, Harmony, Bliss, Luna and Rousche

I really like the Tivoli style bag. I have been using the large version...hope I don't get struck down for posting my picture :smile: btw I also carry LV so aw well... I like how the inside has a shallow middle zip pocket for misc. little bits.

Thank you! I ordered the large size as well! I got a great deal from a great ebayer. It should be here sometime this week. :smile:
