Resellers getting Chanel items first and selling for premium

Sorry but I’ve got a little rant about this topic. I’ve been following this account on Instagram that would help consign bags and all for reasonable prices. This account would also help you to source a bag if you needed help. It all seemed pretty good, honest, and reasonable which I really liked/appreciated … But today is the first time I ever saw them post a story about taking pre-orders for next season. Along with more photos of items available to order. I mean isn’t this just a blatant reselling for profit? Unfortunately I’ve seen this person in store before since we’re located in the same area and I guess they’re a VIP since they manage to score the “it” color cf every season. I find this so unfair to the rest of us that are just trying to buy our first dream bags. Where I am located there are only 2 or 3 boutiques and the SAs I have spoken to all agree that it is “extremely competitive” to purchase a bag. And we all know the famous lines “we’re only getting 2 or 3 of those bags…” I find all this so infuriating! I don’t think any of Chanel’s tactics (like price increases :annoyed:) are working against resellers and it doesn’t seem like they care that much (I could understand why).:yucky: I wish there was a better system. Ok rant over- thank you tpf and moderators/members for this space to have talks like these.

P/s: our tax is NOT 10%

This is infuriating - does her SA know she's a reseller?

Fashionphile has a mini caviar rectangle for $7k. Who would buy that? Isn’t one of the reasons the mini is so popular is that it’s a cheaper alternative to the small CF? Not at $7k it isn’t!

I’m sure someone who doesn’t know any better will still buy though.

I bet someone is going to buy this. I personally prefer mini over small because I don’t find he inner flap useful. I do find the price increase absolutely crazy though.

Not commenting on any individual seller...but is there anyway to really know whether every social media seller actually sells an item for the amount they advertise? Perhaps they do 100% of the time...I don't know but one has to wonder sometimes.

I’m curious about this too! I wonder if they say that it sold to create hype, etc…

They do. If most of us didn't realise it by now. But most of these resellers are also re-posters! Means the screen-grab to post on their ig. When when the original listing is sold. The reposters also will scream "SOLD in a flash!!!"

So laughable. They didn't even earn from that but would add it to their resume.

Also if most of is don't realise by now. Most of these bags are sold to.... RESELLERS. Yup. They buy at that ridiculous price to.. KEEP! Or flip (price increase by a few hundreds) or simply wait for the next price increase and sell.

So I tell you guys now, when you buy over price from a reseller... you are paying wage to a handful of resellerS!

Where is the final customer? ... rarer by the day.

It feels like they are the ones dictating the price since there is only a fixed amount of bags from a certain design/season/colors. If they circulated the same few bags amongst themselves this way, no surprise that the real customer is going to get the same bag at a mark up of $xxx multiplied by X number of resellers. This also drives a situation of panic buying + actual consumers turning into resellers/holding the bag to flip once there is a price increase like this month. Truly this poor culture wouldn't end anytime soon and being a real consumer who really wants a certain bag, I'm no longer feeling the excitement of getting the bag I love especially with the even higher price as days goes by:tdown:
