Resellers getting Chanel items first and selling for premium

Did anyone catch yesterday that Julia Rose Boston is selling a small black caviar classic flap with gold hardware for $7600? If my memory serves correct on the current retail price, thats $1400 over retail for a bag you can get from the boutique with minimal effort.

Yup, I just posted about her up thread! Completely ridiculous. I actually DM'ed her about it inquiring why she is buying brand new bags from the boutique and selling them at such insane markups..and of course she never responded. Its just so completely shady. I know she used to live abroad in London and would source her bags from there, then sell them here in the US for a very reasonable price, sometimes under retail in USD. But of course she has a very different business model now lol.

This is slightly off topic but in relation to different kind of resellers. The RESELLERS on FB groups! They post bags, costume jewelry, etc at almost 20-30% profit margins and have complete support, likes, cheers, wonderful comments from others especially the admins. Why is this not being looked into?! Can we report these people to Chanel and get them banned? It is infuriating to see the 21p caramel and gold minis being sold at almost 20-30% profit. Both bags I wanted and desperately looked to buy at retail. It is not fair that they still continue to post openly!
Ugh sorry, vent over...

Actually I’ve seen a bunch of these “resellers” in the groups are selling REALLY good superfakes. I think some of them are friends with the admins, one in particular claims to be an expert authenticator yet this person let’s these superfakes from her friends/ people they’re cool with fly. And since the admin says they’re “authentic” they person buying at a steep premium doesn’t bat an eyelash. I won’t name any names (not trying to catch a lawsuit lol!) but quite a few people have been scammed this way and if they try to speak out or make a post about a well loved reseller who sold them a fake, it doesn’t get approved and they get threatened with a lawsuit. I know there are good sellers and people just trying to sell items they don’t want but I don’t trust any of those fb groups.

I’m with you on reporting those groups and “resellers”

Wow...how can they get sued??

If they have proof that the bag is fake, thats not defamatory at all, Lol.

I would put them on blast.

wow! I'm pretty sure I know exactly who you are talking about and have paid this person to authenticate two of my bags, one from TRR and one from a FB group member who sells from her own collection - not one of the resellers. Not that I don't believe you, but have you seen proof of this happening? If this person is who I think they are they have been used by a lot of TPFers as well and seems to be highly recommended for authenticating.

My main problem with the FB groups is it seems many of the members are new to the brand and don't yet have the institutional knowledge about Chanel & how to shop for it, and the resellers there seem to prey on that.

OMG what group and which authenticator?! I really hope it’s not the one who I am guessing. Can you pm me? This is making me nervous because I was going to reach out to them for authenticating a bag.

I agree. Whenever there’s a amass following, there will be opportunity for series of closet sales that was intentionally to be sold. This is different from people who just outgrew their collection.

Can we have a list of these vloggers /ig luxe influencer reseller ?
Can I start with Alyssa Lenore? I adore her and always felt she was quite transparent about her sponsorships and why a bag didn't work for her anymore. But after watching one of her stories (you knoe the one, one that's already full off ads) asking if she should sell bags on a firt come first serve base or bid I felt so disappointed.

I get that youtube is her living but isn't it enough to make so much video's about a bag, don't even need a third party reseller and now want to cash in on your subscribers.

I never knew what she did in the end because she just lost all her credibility. If you want to be a reseller, just be upfront about it. Don't try to hide it.

It’s pretty clear who your talking about. That’s a huge accusation to be making.

I think cause she's getting married and having a destination wedding along with a new puppy, things are probably getting a bit tight(I don't know how much her fiance makes) plus they are doing renovations at their home so she's most likely selling bags to sustain her lifestyle.

She also ordered a special order bag from Hermès so I assumed she was selling items to pay for that. ;)
