Resellers getting Chanel items first and selling for premium

I used to really enjoy JuliaRoseBoston and loved that she sourced bags and she usually resold them at just a little above retail, sometimes even under retail. Now she is selling brand new current season bags at $2k over retail! I DM'ed her to inquire and she never responded. These resellers act like they are doing everyone such a favor by hunting down bags but really they are just being greedy!

I've always been curious as to what they end up selling pieces for after purchase. I haven't accepted their offers, so I haven't been able to track this. Wondering if anyone else has been monitoring or tracking what you guys have sold??

I was offered 5800 for it new full set, which is well below retail...and check what they are selling it for!!!

I was there during the Taty and Catwalks saga. HelloCatwalkcity won this vintage 24k ghw white medium flap in a giveaway. She then does unboxing video, review or something blah blah blah contents for ig & youtube.

Then BOOM she sold it! Then TatyFarr was NOT happy. “A bag she got for free! From a giveaway! How could she?!”

Then there were people who supported Catwalk “It’s already yours you can do whatever you want and people are willing to pay” and some supported Taty “What a greedy person! Why couldn’t she do a giveaway with that free bag?”
Thanks for the back story

I noticed isabelles style was mentioning she sold her pink Chanel phone holder she unboxed a few weeks ago too. I remember thinking it felt very counter intuitive to buy considering what she had been saying about downsizing and not buying pink bags. Not accusing her of being a chronic reseller, but it seems like for these youtubers, they have a built in audience that can see a video of inventory and thus if they’re proactive enough, can buy from them. And for all these influencers, they are predictably all about “H” now so they need to get more money to keep up with the Jonses. For many of us a nice bag or luxury item of any kind is a measured and studied purchase, but for influencers i think they buy things on a whim because they don’t really have to worry about the return period and have a cushion if they want to get their money back PLUS the likes and views that continue to fund their closet. Overall I agree with a lot of what has been said in the last few pages of this thread and I didn’t even know who CWC was but glad I never will watch her lol. And Taty is too much, i don’t even know where she came from or grew in any relevance because she isn’t a YouTuber and her Instagram feed is pretty whatever. As far as luxury YouTube goes, I will only stay subscribed to Sophie, the real Shakeen, Stylehard, and Cassie. They don’t always share my same taste but they at least have more interesting things to discuss / don’t just do the same video topic as everyone else constantly. They also don’t seem to contribute to the vicious influencer resellers cycle.

Oh they will eventually I bet. They're just getting started, and when the followers and likes amass then they'll start selling bags because it didn't "work for them." I've seen one youtuber I just unsubscribed from do just that.

I agree. Whenever there’s a amass following, there will be opportunity for series of closet sales that was intentionally to be sold. This is different from people who just outgrew their collection.

Can we have a list of these vloggers /ig luxe influencer reseller ?

This is slightly off topic but in relation to different kind of resellers. The RESELLERS on FB groups! They post bags, costume jewelry, etc at almost 20-30% profit margins and have complete support, likes, cheers, wonderful comments from others especially the admins. Why is this not being looked into?! Can we report these people to Chanel and get them banned? It is infuriating to see the 21p caramel and gold minis being sold at almost 20-30% profit. Both bags I wanted and desperately looked to buy at retail. It is not fair that they still continue to post openly!
Ugh sorry, vent over...

Wow I am learning a lot from these. I think had I not been desperate for latest intel on the upcoming seasons I would not even join IG and nor subscribe YT channels if I wasn’t curious on reviews about pieces I am interested in getting but now I know they are just influencing viewers in hopes someone will reach out and say I would love to buy your ....
