Resellers getting Chanel items first and selling for premium

How could you @XXLAM88 (from TimelessAudrey) post something like this threatening legal action,

this is a forum and people are allowed to voice their opinion,

It is against you Chanel should take legal action.

The handful of times I’ve interacted with Timeless by Audrey / Xexilia in the past while looking for a certain item were pleasant. Recently, I saw a couple posts on the Chanel FB groups calling out her behavior and business practices. I think those FB posts have been deleted since. I was a little surprised, since she seemed very kind online.

Now seeing that Xexilia signed onto TPF to post some lies about she obtains new handbags and threaten legal action against someone, I’m certainly never going to buy anything from her. I didn’t realize there were issues with her bags being SNAD. Guess there’s much more to the story than we always think.

Now I am wary of the other FB mods who support her.

We recall this conversation clearly and feel this screenshot is highly misleading as your enquiry was not related to current, hard-to-find seasonal release items, nor is it related to this thread.

As seasoned resellers, we locate pieces that our trusted clients cannot obtain, whether it be new or preloved. Indeed, some boutiques don’t bring in certain releases.

At the time of the above conversation, we had a long list of clients around the world looking for the Classic line Trendy CC in brand new condition. In order to fulfil the long waitlist we were able to bring in 10 pieces from Europe and Asia, sourced through legitimate personal shoppers to cater to our clients’ orders.

Whilst it is unfortunate that USA and Canada is sold out - we had no involvement in the buyout situation in your country.

Your screenshot is very misleading.

Bingo! She is caught red handed!

The other reseller’s audacity to make up stories of how she obtained those bags here last night is beyond me, lol.

Hope more greedy resellers get to be exposed!

But at least if you buy things at hermes to get the opportunity to buy a bag, you own those things. You pay a reseller the same as you would have spent buying additional items, but you don’t have the additional items.

I agree but with H some ppl genuinely don’t want the additional items so are fine going to resellers and spending what they would’ve spent on stuff they don’t want. Personally I love the brand as a whole, like their dining sets and some rtw, etc, but it’s not everyone’s taste. Not the biggest fan of their fine jewelry other than some bracelets and it’s not as if you can only buy scarves or pillows to get a bag so I understand ppl who don’t like anything but the bags although admittedly H doesn’t want ppl like that for clients

Misleading? Not quite. That screenshot tells me everything I needed to know how greedy resellers operate.

I live in Asia where a lot of people are drowning in many and no place to spend it since they can't travel, shop. It doesnt happen too much in western countries because the market usually works well but be it bags, rice, gasoline, vaccine, cosmetics, train ticket etc, - when there is profit to be made those with connections will try to reap some profit (the rent seekers). It's a sign of an inefficient market. Either supply should increase, or retail prices should increase even more to eliminate/lower the profit margin for rent seekers. Otherwise it's a whole lot of elaborate ruse and admin expenses to manage what would have been freely organized by the "invisible hand". In the meanwhile, secondary market sellers will benefit.

Sadly this seems true - I’ve been asking an SA to look out for a caramel mini from hk, She’s told me it is doubtful she will get more but will look out for me. I’ve just been directly into this forum as someone has mentioned that the exact store had caramel deliveries yesterday - same time I was told there are none! It’s insane. Unfair. But what can we do?!
Exactly. There’s nothing I can do to help the situation. The whole store is in on it. They’ve been doing this for well over 5 years.

This thread is such an eye opener. Been buying Chanel for only 2 years, so I can say I’m fairly new to this community. Despite this, I saw how INTENSE the “scarcity” has been on the 21p collection compared to the previous years. had wondered about this, now I know why.

too much of a conspiracy, but with buying limits and travel restrictions, I think it’s still kinda fishy to source a ton of bags from a recent collection on a short span of time. Makes me scared that superfakes may have been mixed in :/

These past month or so I’ve been calling SAs and Chanel customer care for items which I understand ofcourse are high in demand. What surprises me is that I will talk to my SA and customer care and not one of the many items on my list are available but the same day I will see resellers posting them on IG and ofcourse asking for premium prices. I’m beginning to think they put themselves on all of these wait list and will get them first before us and obviously when they get it, they sell at higher prices. Now because we want the items so much and don’t want to wait for another increase, we’re ending up buying the items in much higher prices than they already are. I've seen so many hard to find items in the hands of resellers and I see many bag lovers getting them from resellers instead of the stores. I think there is something wrong in this picture. Is it just me thinking this?
I think this exact thing... I have just spoken to a SA about this it’s not fair she couldn’t believe it happens

Seeing how much people are willing to spend on these hot bags through resellers just gives Chanel that much more of an incentive to raise their own prices. Why should they let that extra profit go to the resellers when it can go in their own pocket? By buying at these premium prices through resellers you are giving Chanel the data they need to know that they can increase their own prices and people will still buy. Where does it end?
