Resellers getting Chanel items first and selling for premium

I'm just a little curious and trying to understand the resellers market. Due to the impending Chanel price increase, I see quite a number of resellers posting on their page convincing buyers to "quickly buy the bag they have on sale now or regret forever" because once the price increase happens in boutique in Nov, they will increase their prices as well. However, did they not procure their current stock at current price and therefore, their current stocks shouldn't be affected by the price increase yet? I mean I would sort of understand them increasing their prices if they procure the bags at boutique at the Nov's price.....

Do people really fall for these panic buying messages?
That's why sales are becoming slower at reseller's market right now. People are smarting up and refusing more

I also wonder why they’re so eager to hype the increase … seems like if your items are really so special and in-demand, you’d be better off saying nothing until after the increase and then upping your price too instead of trying to get rid of it now at the current price.

It actually makes financial sense. The next batch of bags they will buy will cost more, adjusting the price before allows them to garner this extra money that they will use for the future bags. And yes, people will fall for fomo.

My first thought was that they are using this as an opportunity to increase their profits and yes you could be right too as they need to increase their cash flow to get future bags.

Greetings! It's been a while since I've visited and just learned of this group. :) I have a question and forgive me if it's off-topic.
I look around for bags quite frequently just to see if I can find a cool bag at a bargain. Does anyone know why Chanel pre-loved bags seem to be undervalued these days? Good for buying, but selling my excess bags are quite frustrating. Anyway, it's been on my mind. Also, Louis Vuitton seems to be higher for their bags that are pre-loved.

I wonder had she said “anyone who has submitted a quote to FASHIONPHILE and got a buyout quote for less than you paid, hit me up!” Some people HAVE taken a loss selling to a reseller just to have that business list for current or higher value.

It depends on the styles. Large bags are not necessarily hot and in demand now so you could find a good deal on preloved.
Many small or medium Chanel’s are going ABOVE retail (even when tags are still on it). Colors also make a difference.

This is why it’s better you hunt for a preloved bag that fits your needs versus something that might be popular for a short period.

I couldn’t reserve more than one…guess it depends on the SA

Are you trying to reserve two bags from the same collection? I remember reading some stores only allowing customer to reserve one bag and one SLG per collection but you should still be able to purchase one bag and one SLG per month - I think reservation policy is store dependent and purchase limit is now consistent across US at least
