Reseller Inventory....yikes!

I just received the folllowing email from the reseller Lady Hermezz. I have never purchased from them so I have no idea regarding authenticity. However, if their bags are authentic, I am shocked by the amount of inventory. Seems that it might help to expaln why the inventory in the stores is so low if just one reseller has such an extravagant amount of merchandise.

Oh wow! I don't know how one person could purchase so many bags?:shrugs: Strikes me as kinda odd, and I don't know if I would purchase from her because, as I'm not too familiar with Hermes prices, I wouldn'[t know if I'm getting a good deal.

one person didn't purchase them all. you wouldn't be getting a good deal, those prices are pretty outrageous.

Yes...,to be specific....this is the list of bags that they currently have for sale....and agree the prices are steep...I will never understand why Hermes allows a reseller to basically have an entire store of inventory and sell it at twice the price.

How is this any different from an after-market for Patek Philippe or VCA or BMW? Or from a single individual who has a large bag collection?

This comes up here every couple of years and there is always a lot of outrage at one or more resellers.

It's unrealistic to expect any vendor to try to control what happens once the goods are sold. All resellers obtain their bags from a wide network of sources. If people weren't prepared to pay their prices, these items would not sell. As with anything else, the market dictates prices. Why not be angry at the buyers?

I have been thinking this recently that if the reputable resellers have these huge amount of Bs and Ks, then no wonder why not that much stocks in store, so the SAs sometimes r telling the truth which they really don't have much in stock lol

Also the inventory has been building up through out a few years, it's not as if they got those in one go. I know a lot of people trade (buy and consign) with them. I see no difference from any other auction houses for example.

Yes of course they have stuff for auctions, but you can't order an item from an auction house at a fixed or negotiated price, nor do they purchase stock for retail by themselves.

This is getting into the weeds, though. The question is if these items are in fact on hand, and vetted, and so on, when a customer approaches that reseller.

I am not saying the formats of the sales are the same. I am saying it's no difference some sellers will have a large number of stocks for sale. If you have established yourself to be a reputable seller then people will go to you. Auction or not.
