Hi everybody. I'm writing from Italy and this is my first message even if I've been lurking for 14 years.

I have just ruined the handle of my Pochette Metis with one of the baby wipes (Huggies) that many youtubers advise for maintaining the vacchetta clean. Mine is now dark and stained

Anybody has any idea how much LV charges for a replacement?

Thank you for your help.
I just wanted to give a little update if anybody is interested.

Yesterday I managed to go to the LV boutique in Milan.
They told me they could replace the whole top handle and front leather trim for 280 Euros.
I really hated the stained vacchetta so I decided to go on and have the work done and I'm actually relieved they can do it.
It will be ready in 10-16 weeks.
Thank you for all your advise, I will show you the result when I'll have my bag back.

I know that it is still a lot of money, but for that kind of difficult repair, it seems reasonable. I hope they will do it well and the bag will be back to its original glory.

I'm officially priced out of LV. With all the increased in prices it's way out of my budget range. I'll cherish the ones I currently own.
I agree---when you compare price (and quality and residual value) it's actually less expensive to go with Hermes. That's what I have converted to over the past year. For the quality, Hermes is the much better value. Some of their RTW and shoes it much less expensive than LV---but better quality.

Has anyone ever asked for a replacement on a whole new strap? Lol for example if I misplace a LV crossbody strap, do you know how much it would be to order a new one?
Yes! I just got a speedy 25 bandouliere vachetta strap for $390 USD (no tax on repairs). I did it through the app, they required pics of the bag, but it didn't need to be sent in. They just ordered the strap and I paid before it was shipped.

:wtf: Wow, didn't know you could order replacements parts/repairs through the app---which part of the app do you visit to get it started?

Yup! This was most likely started during the pandemic, before you could email them. Even replacement straps are considered a "repair." Go to my LV, My care services, request a new repair. You have to upload pics and make an appointment. I will say the hardest part is getting an appointment! It regularly says none are available. I was told to check on Thursday mornings for new appointments. Definitely beats having to drive back and forth to the store!

So...you have to make an "appointment" to do a mobile repair request/upload?

Not sure if this is what happened in her case, but when I made the app appointment for a repair (about two weeks out), I got an email about two days later to ask for follow up and I ended up not needing the appointment after all. It was all taken care of via the email exchanges.

You go in the app, submit your pictures and make an appointment for the future. During your appointment is where you will speak with CS about the repair and they review your images. I wasn't able do it via emails, (I asked) and I was only getting a strap. I had to wait almost 2 weeks for my appointment and speak with someone first to move forward.
