Karma, baby! A few years ago, Mr. RK was showing off his magnificent apartment and downing Coach, dismissing it as a brand for "secretaries," and how that brand was pretty much on autopilot while he built his own brand. Fast forward to now: his luxury brand flopped, he's being sued by not only Coach but his landlords for unpaid rent on his stores, and only now he deigns to bring his oh so enormous talent to the "mass market" with plastic laminated knockoffs of his styles -- not even bothering to create something new -- and still manages to overprice them even whey they're already on "sale."
Don't get me wrong -- I love it when an established or up and coming designer does a collaboration with a mass market retailer so that everyone can get a chance at owning something truly beautiful. What I don't love is a desperate, foolish man trying to hoodwink us into believing that he's done something special when in fact he's just trying to pull his backside out of the fire. Just my opinion.
