Rediscovering Marc Jacobs vintage

Thanks @pjfirst. It does look great. I still have no clue about the names of the styles. And yes, perfect trending as an east west style. 🙃 I had two bags from
Marc Jacob’s 20 years ago and now I wish, I did not sell them 1,5 decades again 😵‍💫😆. Now I start over collecting again. At this current price point, I have to look out for the best condition of bags available and give them a good new home. Today a small green Marc Jacob’s cross body bag arrived in the mail. This is nothing exceptional but a good made in Italy bag for everyday- even for rainy days. . Still wait for the other one I mentioned earlier to get shipped. This bag is more of a crazier side. (Unfortunately no frogs so far)
✌🏻

I'm so happy people are talking about vintage Marc! I've been collecting his 2000s bags and have come across some insane showstoppers, I've included a few below. From left to right: Pre-fall 2009 safety pin Stam, FW06 python Capra, and a fur/python bag that I'm unable to identify. If anyone knows anything about the burgundy one, let me know! I haven't been able to find much information other than it retailed for $2,950 when it was sold.

Love it. Giving new homes to the MJ bags that have lived a good, long life. Definitely share your finds when they arrive, crazy or simple!

The bag in my avatar is MJ - a soft lemon yellow quilted leather, with a bit of sparkle on it.
I want to say I bought it retail somewhere in the 2010s?
It is very lightweight, holds phone, keys, lipstick and is my go to “special occasion” bag.

I will think about taking pics, I have a Little Lou, Blake, Aylona, Multipocket, Christy, Eggplant tote and various SLGs.

Okay, yes - I was (am) a crazy MJ fan back in the day 😆

Wait it’s my favorite Marc Jacobs collector from the other app! The safety pin stammm 😍
It’s so hard to find a name for these older bags.
This brown version at least has a tag but trying to search for anything else seems to go nowhere.

Hahaha hello!!

Some of them don't seem to have style names which makes researching them difficult, but I did find one other in a cobalt blue that sold on 1stDibs!

I also added a picture of my latest find, it's another mystery bag with a leather lining that appears to be from the mid 2000s. It's blue/black raffia with black patent leather. I'm obsessed with the off-center pocket! I got her for $80 on TRR as she's a bit of a wounded bird, the screws that should attach the metal frame at the top aren't screwed in, but it came with some in a little ziploc inside the bag. Now my husband has to fix it, haha!

I also have a few others that I haven't shared on Reddit yet if people are interested in seeing them!

I fprgot that I also have a little stam (maroon goat leather) and brown quilted bag zip top purse with gold hardware.
I love the little Stams, I want to find one! I haven't been able to find anything on the raffia bag, it's even more elusive than the fur one! I'm wondering if it was from a resort collection, images from resort are harder to find because they aren't on Vogue Runway :(

This is my newest acquisition. I love the green color. It’s „made in Italy“ - but it’s not a crazy purse ( no frogs;)). It’s was waaaaay under 100 dollars and the color was just too pretty to leave it behind and fits well to little stam. Friends 😅❤️
I also have a recent green (this one is a dark green) hobo/shoulder bag that was priced really well. The leather had some rubbing off in some little areas so I think the seller was just ready to get rid of it. I don’t see a lot of the older bags with this button style but I love these weird little round buttons.

Oh the off center front pouch is so unique. It reminds of a built-in version of how runway bags have recently been styled with a smaller bag added on.
