Redoing my Mani for st patricks day. This is my base, 2 coats RCM dripping in luxury. At two coats it's still very sheer! :(. I was hoping for more opaque silver. I ended up doing a third cost which I didn't want to do to get more opacity!

2 coats

Then after I added the third coat

That's a pretty color! I think I'd like it best with a coat of white under. I hate when I get VNL lol. I'm sitting her trying to guess what you're going to do with it. Something fabulous I'm sure lol

Why the price difference if they're the same?

Not complaining (that's a nice plus since Ulta is closer and has more of a selection) but if the base is the same you have $20 vs $10? For the same product, same size, different package? That's a big difference.

There's not that big a difference between Equate and the real deal brand and that's not even the same companies.

They're not the same size. I believe that RCM bottles are 9 mls and Gelish bottles are 15 mls. At any rate the Gelish products are bigger.

And Ulta often has great coupons! when you use the $3.50 off $10 then it's super cheap! Most of the sales associates will use the coupon on them even though it's technically a penny short at 9.99. I've only ever had one tell me no, and when I said, then nevermind, I don't want it, her counterpart said it was OK to take it off, LOL.

I think it's all marketing, really. RCM is marketed to DIYers. Gelish, even the mini's at Sally's are more marketed toward professionals, so they maintain that more "professional" marketing, and thus price tag. Sometimes Sally's has sales too though - for a while last year they were on sale for like 11.95, and there was a $5 off $25 coupon floating around that was good until the end of the year. Just watch for sales, and scope out some good places to buy online for the full-size bottles if you want them.

I'm OK with VNL for some things. I mean, even with this mani, with all it's coats, i have a tiny bit of VNL. it's not bothering me though with this mani. I do with the RCM silver was more opaque though. I wonder if Gelish Night Shimmer is also as sheer - Anyone who has night shimmer know? I think i'm gonna get Orly Gel FX Shine, as I'm pretty sure that is opaque in 2 coats and still a great silver.

I think She was talking about the Gelish Mini's, which are the same size as the RCM's. I do like the mini's for the less space they take up, LOL, and I have quite a few of them since I'll never even use up a whole mini probably, let alone a whole fullsize bottle, but the price they charge for them is nutty when you can get a fullsize online for the same or sometimes less! I do wonder with all the other brands coming out that are cheaper if their prices will come down eventually.

I have my eye on shine too. I feel like we all need a good silver in our stash lol

Oh my mistake :)

Yes, Gelish Night Shimmer is somewhat sheer. I did 3 thick coats for my New Year's mani and still had a little vnl. The Waterfield covered the rest.

Ok at least I know it's not just my RCM or that little stiff brush causing the issue. Lol

Its more like $10 to $13-16.

But anyway, I think ferret hit it exactly. It's just marketing - they're trying to create perceived value. RCM is marketed to the home consumer, anybody can try it. Gelish is a "professional" product. Oooo. Ahhhh. Must be worth alot. ;)

So it looks like a lot of the new colors are dupes for gelish colors Star power is a dupe for Gelish Shake it till you samaba, What a suprise is a dupe for Carnival Hangover,Only in Hollywood looks like a dupe for good gossip and the RCM LE M thank you speech,Who are you wearing looks like it could be adupe for Ooba Ooba Blue, Thank U mom & dad looks like a dupe for Vegas nights or Waterfield. The only I would say orginal color that is not a dupe that I have seen so far is The perfect pair it is a yellow color with glitter so definitly not something that you see often.

If it does that's awesome!!! I haven't tried it I just saw the restrictions on the Progel polish description!! It is ob my android Mobile web page view though!!! If the coupon worked for u, that it awesome!!!! I was getting a bit discouraged!!

For those with an android phone this should open!!

Just wanted to let you know I stopped by my ulta today and picked up a progel color along with a few other things but everything else either didnt qualify for the coupon or was under the amount needed. However I used the 3.50 off coupon and it worked so I would give it a try when you go into ulta. It even showed on my reciept that it deducted the 3.50 off of the progel and the other $8 product that I purchased.

Is the yellow glitter or shimmer, like the candy land yellow? I might have to check it out. Still too bad they are all dupes.

Since that purple (one of a kind?) looks like a dupe for entity one amethyst studs I wonder if they are related too somehow. Their led light is another that looks like the gelish/ACG/geleration 6g. I should've gotten that purple just so I could see if it was exactly the same. Lol.
