MY ULTA HAD THE NEW COLORS OUT!!!

I have to say, they might have even had them when I was there on Sunday and I missed them. They were not near the other RCM polishes, and were on a 4-walled display near a window.

All 4 LE colors were there and most of the other new colors were there. 4 or 5 were missing. My Inspiration is definitely a dark gray--similar to asphalt. The pinks Simply Adorable and I Simply Love Your Nails are very similar--SA was lighter. I bought it. I think WOW is definitely Bronzed. I also bought Dripping in Luxury, the Night Shimmer dupe. I will probably go back for What a Surprise--a very pretty medium shimmer purple.

So, the hunt is on--remember to look around the whole store ladies!!

Ok Ladies I have yet another question....
When appling the layers THINLY, how do I know if I'm doing this correctly?
The 1st time, I actually wiped the brush off on BOTH sides then brushed my nail.
Some times it felt as if I was DRY BRUSHING, so I dipped the brush back into the bottle
& repeated the same process. Is this the best way to do this?? Any suggestions, advice?
Thanks

Lucky You!!

:smile1:

As far as applying thinly, I brush off everything from both sides and even though it feels like it is dry-brushing, it isn't. I think getting used to how very little SOG polish needs to be on the brush is a big part of the SOG learning curve.
Ummm
Ok....I'll give it a go again, but without redipping:cool:

I tend to leave a little bit more on my brush than that but I also use a size 4 craft brush to put on all my polishes because I just find it a lot easier to make them thin and it "paints" easier than using the brush. I just put a couple drops on foil and paint dab it in the polish and then polish my nail and wipe off whatever looks like pooling/excess paint area and wipe on foil (Hope that makes sense)

I wipe the brush both sides and then go dab, dab, dab, dab, dab on each finger - then go back and spread each the dab around. Did that make any sense? :smile1: Anyway, so you have a teeny amount on each nail to work with as opposed to alot on finger 1 and then feeling like you have nothing left by finger 5.

Yes this makes plenty of sense to me. Craft brush uhhh.....:smile1: OK.

So there's enough product for all 5 fingers after you wipe BOTH sides??
Does the product stiffen up on the fingers in waiting??
I think my light might be a problem..........

Yep, plenty. I sort of push it to the back toward my cuticle and then stroke the whole thing forward.

And no, it doesn't stiffen up at all - do you mean the light you're working under? I started out trying to use an LED task light I had and it definitely started stuff curing while I was working.

My store had them, but if I wasn’t looking hard for them I’d have never found them. The new ones were on the bottom shelf below the old display and they weren’t even arranged. I don’t know if any were missing...but I got the shimmer purple (one of a kind) cause I didn’t have anything like it. It looked like it applied a little streaky on my swatch. Here it is with my other purple polishes

I have not seen any other line with this purple color.
Dripping in Luxury was definitely a Night Shimmer Dupe. Good Gossip is definitely that 4th LE Red. The two pinks were very close, I think the darker of the two might be Go Girl, but I didn’t bring my swatches with me. There is also a light pink glitter, June Bride maybe, I don’t have that one. One looked dark gray, as Tohillary said, no shimmer that I could see, but it didn’t lean purple to me either...just gray. Hmmm. I’d have taken actual notes if I had my swatches, but had to settle for just looking since I didn’t :)

Could it be similar to Gelish Starburst?

No, it’s definitely lighter. I should actually have that swatched here somewhere if I haven’t lost it, cause I owned it at one point and traded it away. If I can find it tomorrow and remember I will take a pic to compare them.

Plus RCM already has the dupe out for starburst, I believe, was it 9” nails? I could go check the list, but I’m too lazy :)
