I'm really curious what the wattage is on that RCM light. the pro light still isn't listed on ulta's website either
I haven't seen wattage anywhere but they said it cures color in 45 seconds. It should be on the website next week.

If you have "bendy" nails then Gelish with its Structure gel might be good for you. "Peely" nails seem to do well with Geleration. Great natural nails might go with Shellac. I really like Shellac because it does not require buffing of the natural nail and I find it the easiest to remove. But the colors are so limited and layering is just bogus - costly and inconsistent. I also like Gelish. The range of colors is great. I use it without buffing the natural nail and it still lasts me 2 weeks+, but is harder to take off (for me). I hate the thickness of Red Carpet Manicure, but I just love the colors and viscosity of Geleration and Artistic Colour Gloss and have been using them in combination with my Shellac and Gelish base and top coats. They play together very nicely. Another advantage of being a DIYer is that you can mix systems like this. I don't think I could go with just one system anymore!
What do you think makes Geleration good for peely nails? And is it the base coat that's better? I have "bendy" and "peely" nails. i have only tied Gelish base. It lasts for about 1 week then starts to lift from tips. Otherwise it is perfect.
I was having trouble keeping the Gelish on but I switched to Shellac for a few months and was very careful not to peel off the SOG when it started to chip( It is very hard to resist that sometimes...)Now my nails seem like they are in the best shape they have ever been and I broke down and bought 2 Gelish mini's at Sally's and it seems to be staying on much better.I am on day 9 with Elegant Wish and no chips so far. I do use CND solar oil 2 x a day for the past year as well. I think it is all about your type of nails mixing with the right SOG. But if you can get your nails healthy while using the SOG's in 6 months you should notice positive results.

I agree. I have been experimenting with different combinations and I find that (for now) Shellac base and top with any brand's colour coat works for me. Gelish lasts longer but is hell to remove. So when I need a longer lasting mani, I use the Gelish top and base, sometimes using a regular base underneath. My nails are now so long that I have to file them down and I have pretty much stopped biting my nails - a habit of 50+ years.
The Pro 45 Light is now available on the Ulta website for $49.99. I'm wondering if it's really going to cut down on the curing time or if the times will have to be adjusted upward to cure certain colors. Base coat curing on my UV is 1 minute and 45 seconds on this lamp. Can colors be the same 45 seconds or will darker colors need more?
Ulta has the 20% off deal going again! www.ulta.com
I have enough colors to do manicures for at least my lifetime, if not the lifetimes of several people, LOL
