So charleston-mom I have been meaning to ask you how do you are for your calfskin Ricky!!! Like is there any kind of protector you use or anything you use for scratches???
I use blackrock leather conditioner. It's what was recommended to me by the Ralph Lauren Boutique when I bought my bag, but I haven't had to do it much. You'd be surprised what just rubbing your finger (the oil from your own hand) across a mark or scratch will do. The calfskin Ricky just gets better with age (like an old saddle). I actually like it a little distressed. I'll try later to get an updated picture of my full-size calfskin Ricky for you. You'll see what I mean - It's gotten soft and squishy - and yes, marked here and there, but to me that's what makes it wonderful.

Has anyone purchased a Ricky from a non boutique or national retailer? If so how did you verify authenticity?
You should be able to take it to a RL store that carries the Ricky bag and they should be able to check it out for you I would think!!
Thank you so much for starting this thead. I joined TPF back in 2008 just to learn more about the Ricky Bag. I saw a print ad of a alligator Ricky and it took my breath away. Fast forward 5 years and more disposable income I was able to purchase my first Ricky and I totally love this bag, we all know how we feel about our first Designer/luxury bag. Fast forward 8 more months when I realized that the python Ricky was not a very practical bag for everyday use, so what's a girl to do? Purchase another Ricky! This time black patent with silver hardware. I would be so honored to join this thread. And yes Charleston-Mom, I believe that back in 2008 you had the only Ricky bag posting, so thank you!!!

Thank you, I really have enjoyed them both. This brown croc is the first Ricky I saw and fell in LOVE And knew one had to be in my future.
