R. Kelly

R. KELLY
Not Sweating Celine, Gaga... ALL ABOUT SUING LIFETIME!!!

R. Kelly might take a financial hit as more of his hit songs get pulled from streaming services, but he's more concerned with filing a fat lawsuit against Lifetime over its docuseries ... TMZ has learned.

Sources connected to the singer tell us he's not flipping out about people like Celine Dion, Lady Gaga and Ciara yanking their R. Kelly collabs. We're told his only reaction has been to dismiss those artists as "phonies" who are trying to salvage their own images on the heels of the "Surviving R. Kelly" allegations.

We're told he is freaking out about what he considers "lies" put forward in 'Surviving.' As we've reported, Kelly's lawyers fired off a cease and desist letter to Lifetime ahead of the six-part docuseries airing. Of course, Lifetime didn't blink and Kelly's now pressuring his attorneys to follow through with the legal threat.

We're told he has daily meetings with lawyers where they not only discuss the content of 'Surviving' ... but also attempt to dig up dirt on Lifetime execs. The way one source describes it, Kelly seems crazed about getting revenge, and will leave no stone unturned until he gets it.

So far, though, no lawsuit ... while Kelly keeps taking shots.

We broke the story ... his label, RCA/Sony, has pulled all financial backing for new projects -- and prosecutors in 2 cities are actively seeking potential witnesses and victims to bring charges against him.

Fair to say, the walls are closing in and Kelly's not happy about it.

I mean he’s not lying by calling out people who have collaborated with him. I’m glad he’s finally getting his due, but these people in the industry that claim they had no idea about his behavior are just as believable as the people saying they had no idea about Harvey Weinstein. If you are in the industry, you’ve heard the stories. Don’t make your money with him and then claim you had no idea he was such a disgusting piece of crap now that the rest of the world is acknowledging it.

R. Kelly’s Brother: ‘I Just Know He Has A Problem With Control’

CHICAGO (CBS) — Carey Kelly, singer R. Kelly’s younger brother, says he has nothing to gain by lying, and he does not regret taking part in the docuseries “Surviving R. Kelly.”

“I’m still surviving R. Kelly,” he said. “Because I got to look over my shoulders.

Carey grew up with R. Kelly in Chicago, and he’s speaking out now.

“To see all these other women come forth and hear the allegations and different things, I felt bad that I didn’t speak earlier than what I did,” he said.

Carey says he hasn’t talked to his brother, whom he still calls Robert, since the singer’s acquittal on child pornography charges more than a decade ago, charges that centered on a sex tape R. Kelly allegedly made with an underage girl. At the time, there was talk Carey was actually the man on the tape.

“I was not the man in that video,” Carey said.

After the case ended, Carey says the two spoke by phone.

“Once he beat that case, I called him, and I said, ‘Hey man, you know, God gave you another chance, you know. God gave you another chance.’ And his arrogance, and people not believing different things that he’s accused of said, ‘God didn’t give me another chance. I gave me another chance. My money gave me another chance.'”

That was their last conversation. Since then, more than a dozen women have accused R. Kelly of mistreating and abusing them, sometimes when they were underage, and sometimes in the singer’s West Town studio.

When asked if there was any truth to the allegations, Carey said, “He married Aaliyah. It don’t get no truer than that.”

Aaliyah was 15 at the time. The marriage was later annulled.

When asked if R. Kelly is a pedophile, Carey Kelly said, “I mean, I can’t say that for sure. I just know that he has a problem with control. I love my brother, but he do have a problem. And if anybody out there love him, they should want to see him get help.”

Carey Kelly says he noticed troubling behavior decades ago, when his brother would ask him to “get girls for him at concerts.”

“I mean, to me they looked underage,” Carey said.

Carey says there’s fallout from him speaking out. It’s divided his family, leading some members to make what he calls false allegations of sexual molestation against him. He says his 12-year-old daughter was bullied, then unfairly suspended for making threats against her school, even though a friend confessed he’d made it up. District 148 officials declined comment.

“You have the people over here on this side is speaking the truth, and they’re not with that. They don’t condone it. Then you have people on this side feeling like, well if I ever say anything bad about Robert, he might not give me anything. He might cut me off,” Carey said.

Carey says he was repeatedly molested by a family member as a child and believes his brother may have been as well.

CBS 2 reached out to R. Kelly’s attorney for comment but did not hear back.

I never understood people who say they'd rather have sons than daughters but now I kinda get it. You spend 18 years raising your little girl to be an intelligent, strong lady and despite all your efforts, your daughter ends up a sex slave to a known pedophile -- by her own choice. :panic: That would probably be my worst nightmare.

Confused. Same thing can be said for parents that spend 18 years raising and teaching a little boy right from wrong and despite all their efforts he ends up being a sexual predator.

I don’t see anyone, including myself, defending R Kelly in this thread. He is a well known predator and his victims happen to be young girls. Hence my comment from years ago. One can feel sympathy for victims and frustration for their families, and those feelings are not mutually exclusive. Assuming the parents are decent people and not the type to throw their kids away for fame and money. For the life of me, I can’t understand how some of the girls’ parents actually thought R Kelly could help their daughter’s careers.. he is literally one of the world’s most famous sex offenders (yet to be convicted and punished).

It brings back memories of me begging my parents to allow me to take a makeup and modeling class for fun, and crying when they refused. They didn’t want me to have one single exposure to the creeps in the modeling/acting world. I hated them for it back then, but thank them today for being overprotective.

Avenatti says he has new video evidence against R. Kelly

CHICAGO (AP) — Attorney Michael Avenatti said Thursday that he has given Chicago prosecutors new video evidence of R&B star R. Kelly having sex with an underage girl.

Avenatti said the video is not the same evidence used in Kelly’s 2008 trial, when he was acquitted on child pornography charges. CNN, which said it had viewed the footage, reported that the nearly 45-minute VHS tape shows a man who appears to be Kelly performing sex acts with a girl who refers to her body parts as 14 years old.

Tandra Simonton, spokeswoman for Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx, would not confirm or deny that the office is investigating.

Kelly and his attorney have for years denied allegations of sexual misconduct involving women and underage girls. His attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment Thursday on the latest allegations.

Avenatti is best known for representing porn star Stormy Daniels in a lawsuit against President Donald *****. He said his office was retained in April 2018 by multiple people regarding allegations of sexual assault of minors by Kelly, whose legal name is Robert Kelly.

Avenatti said the video surfaced during a 10-month investigation that included witness interviews and examination of documents and evidence throughout the U.S. He told The Associated Press the person who provided the tape knew both Kelly and the female in the video. He also said he did not know where the person had kept the video or why it had not previously been provided to law enforcement.

Both Kelly and the victim are “clearly visible” throughout the recording, as is an identifying mole on Kelly’s back, and both of them refer multiple times to the girl being 14, Avenatti said in a statement.

Kelly can be heard on the tape directing the girl to perform sex acts, the statement said. The singer also “takes great pains” to adjust the camera to ensure that the acts are recorded “with specificity and at a limited distance,” according to the statement.

Foxx asked potential victims to come forward last month after Lifetime aired the documentary “Surviving R. Kelly,” which revisited the allegations against Kelly and put a spotlight on new ones.

Activists from the #MeToo and #MuteRKelly social media movements used the renewed attention to call for streaming services to drop Kelly’s music and promoters not to book any more concerts. They also held protests outside Kelly’s Chicago studio.

Kelly denied all the allegations, and his lawyer, Steve Greenberg, said Kelly was the victim of a TV hit piece . He said Kelly “never knowingly had sex with an underage woman, he never forced anyone to do anything, he never held anyone captive, he never abused anyone.”

Avenatti said his office is cooperating with Foxx’s office. He called Kelly a predator who has preyed on “young, vulnerable girls” for too long.

“The time has come for him to finally be held accountable for his actions,” he said.

Avenatti did not say when the video was recorded but said the acts depicted in it are within the Illinois statute of limitations for criminal charges.

Illinois lawmakers in 2017 eliminated all time limits for felony criminal sexual assault and sexual abuse crimes against children. The new law was prompted in part by decades-old sex abuse allegations against former Rep. Dennis Hastert, who was charged with banking violations because under Illinois law victims of sex abuse had 20 years from their 18th birthday to report the crime so it could be prosecuted.

Same!! It is so unfair to the girls that he is taking advantage of. Good to know you feel money is more important than your child.
