Quota Bag Thread

I was told what happens in Paris stays in Paris, in those exact words.
IMO it doesn’t really matter what Paris or my Home store can ‘see,’ bc clearly it is
something that they can choose to ignore depending on circumstances.

ETA: But, my SA says that he can only offer those bags that he is approved for, leading
me to believe that sometimes if we don’t get an offer, it actually may not have anything
to do with us, our profile, or our spend.
This 100%

True. Confirmed this with my SA a few days ago, she said the quota is not global (I inquired because of two things—asked a friend visiting Paris provided they could get a K25 for me if they could get a leather appointment and second, I have another friend visiting the US and I was wondering if her purchase history in her home store would be visible here).

Hi, I'm new here! I hope I can ask my question here! My concern is that there are no Hermes boutiques in my country or even near. The only option is to fly somewhere (the closest are Poland, Sweden, Paris). Reading the posts here, it seems that over the years, the loyalty and rules of local visitors to each country have become stricter, and only locals have a chance of getting K/B. What is your general opinion, does it make sense for me to fly and even try e.g. Sweden or to Paris for the weekend? Or the probability is very low? I don't want to beg the SA-s or make it look very desperate /or spend money on things that don't appeal to me. However, there are a few smaller things I'm willing to buy. I feel that the situation is significantly more complicated if there is no local boutique :/ Thank you kindly for any help/advice! :)

I can't really speak to the situation, but would you consider buying on the secondhand market? It may make more sense for you.

Absolutely I have considered this as well, and in fact I follow the after market on a daily basis. There are a few reliable resellers in Europe from whom I would dare to buy, but considering the price difference, I would like the idea of buying from a boutique in the first place and rather leave the money in the H store :) My question in the first place was so very general, and no one can have a one right answer to it. Reading here in different threads, I can see that the experiences are quite different. I guess I just have to start somewhere :)

I think even though they say “local” I interpret it to mean more a “regular”.

I think the main idea is they want to cultivate a long term relationship vs a one and done type relationship. I think if you broach the subject with your sa as “I come here often for business and I’d like to shop with you guys while I’m here, is that condusive to getting an offer for more coveted items. Do you guys ship to my country etc etc”

Realistically though, since you can’t pop in often, how will you stay memorable to your SA?

what bag are you looking for? If it is a larger BKC, it’s a bit easier
what other items are you interested in purchasing (if RTW or home, it’s a bit easier)

IMO, try Paris Lottery (which is nerve racking and stressful in and of itself)
or go reseller (authenticate prior to purchase via photos; pay using CC backed by PayPal goods and services)
and IMO stay away from influencer or FB sellers, and stick to very reputable sources
(but honestly, you will save money by going reseller unless you find that you really adore boutique merchandise)

Note: reseller prices are falling; even if you are interested in a smaller BKC, it may be possible. I am no expert, but I did visit Sweden H, and found no RTW, as in they don’t have any (Not that they were out of stock)

@WantbagsHHH , many here say that this is a good time to go. I personally think that it’s so crowded Nov and Dec that it’s difficult to get a bag. I go to Paris usually Feb/March and then in late Sept. it’s best to go when it is raining Bc FSH is relatively quiet and empty. JMO

Try boutiques in resorts, but just before or after the season starts.

Thank You all, who took their time and were willing to reply :)
I understand that here are newcomers on a daily basis and have the same first question and aiming for the ultimate QB. Thanks also to those who did not immediately advise to give up, but to find some way to approach.
Also answering the question here, what kind of QB do I want - then my primary desire is Togo B30 or B35 (I am a very tall woman). Of course, I'd be super happy with a neutral shade, but I'd accept any color if it got to that point.
I'll keep you updated, how my hunt for the holy grail continues.

Honestly, if you want a B35 and don't need "the store experience" or necessarily 100% fresh in box with stickers on, I would buy that at resale. Prices on the 35 in great condition are often below retail, and you can get what you want without even necessarily traveling. I would echo @880 on the precautions to take. If I didn't already have the B35s that I want, I'd be all over resale and especially auction houses. Good luck!

Ladies, I have no idea in which part of the world you shop for resale with these price conditions  but my eyes have not witnessed in recent years retail price or lower on second-hand market (mentioning I prefer only excellent condition or Like new). I guess I am yearning for that "stickers removing" emotion too

Also if you have any great resale market places you could recommend, let me know. I am following mostly EU resellers (SacLab, iconics and some smaller dealers with Paypal option), as I don't want to pay for import taxes (which make the price unreasonably and unjustifiably high for me). For examble UK has some amazing resellers, where I see so many great condition bags, but sending them to EU is so expensive. I am aware of the US resellers, but again the price point.
Also noting that Fashionphile is not sending Birkins to EU (or at least to my country). Vestiaire is not my first option as I have heard many problems with that platform.

There is a reseller section that you might check out, so as not to go entirely OT
click here: https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/discuss-hermes-resale-ebay-sellers.643531/page-612
collectors square; luxury shops (formerly luxury Zurich, okay not EU)
perhaps @maxroxxherhandbags or @allanrvj might know.
certain types of leathers can be refurbished beautifully. I would not rule them out until you see more IRL

eta: I do not know anything about cornerlux, and I do not recommend Vestairre. Other members have had mixed experiences with collectors square. The search button on the upper right of your screen is a good place to start.
some Asian resellers are well priced enough that even factoring duty and vat, it might be worth considering, but
I have not checked lately.

Hi there. Wanted to ask normally how the QB stocks are during Nov and Dec in the stores? Is it a good time to score a QB during these holiday seasons? Thanks
My SA (US based) told me the store receives less bags during the holidays and completion is high since everyone wants something special for Christmas. It might be different location to location.

Also, these past few years, Hermes has easily met its yearly sales goals months ahead of year‘s end, causing H corporate to vastly restrict bag deliveries until the next fiscal quarter.
