Thanks that’s good advice. As mentioned I’m not looking to acquire a bunch of bags, I just don’t want to lose out on getting them along the way

I plan to continue shopping at Hermes and other brands in an enduring basis, but as with building up anything, it’s always a little fast and furious at the beginning haha. For example I’ll need multiple basic staples early on and over time I can start accumulating novelty pieces.

Anyway thanks all for your input. It’s frankly a bit intimidating (and often frustrating) to ask around about these things when people get territorial and assume you’re after the bags and then lecture you about enjoying the brand. When in reality you didn’t even like the bags to begin with and only developed an appreciation for them after enjoying other pieces!!

Btw I say I’m new on this journey but I don’t mean new as in never purchased anything! Ive made quite a few purchases (unfortunately online back in the day and finally in boutiques more recently) so not new to Hermes, but new to the decision of embodying this lifestyle now that my children are grown etc.
Still can’t quite get u.

Say u go in and bam bam bam….spend 20x over cost of a quota bag. Then u take 2 quota bag offers. Say u take a break for a year or 2. When u r back to shop, do you expect to be offered a quota bag with minimum, say 0.1x spend?or u expect to be offered with 0 spend? How about you spent up to 1x sporadically and SA keep telling you there is no stock (for you) over another year? Will you feel you are losing out since you spent 20x in the first year and only gotten 2 quota bags?

I’m just asking because nobody can guarantee anything. So wanna ascertain how you determine yourself as “losing out”.

Don’t make a “strategy” or “plan of attack”— just buy what you like, be respectful and kind to your SA (treat them like a peer) and other people in your store and most importantly be patient. Focusing on “spend” just makes you buy stuff you don’t need tbh- a strong profile only gets you approved for a bag by the manager, a good relationship gets you a bag offer from your SA.

This should be a sticky in a big FONT!

As others have stated, it's 2 quota bags per year, per "qualified" account. If you and your spouse have 2 separate accounts and you "prepend" on each account, let's say 2 to 1 ratio, then you maybe able to get 2 quota bags per account, meaning 4 per year. It all depends on the SA and your relationship with the Store manager. My best advice is, always buy what you love. Don't feel the pressure to buy things you don't love, in the hopes you get an offer, because you will be disappointed if you got no offer and now have all these things you didn't absolutely love and felt obligated to buy in order to get the offer, you didn't get. The "H game" is a journey and not the destination. Enjoy each step and each purchase to the fullest and the offers will come before you know it and sometimes don't stop :hugs: :hugs:

When you say 2 quota bags - does it mean 2 Birkin? Or it has to be 1 Birkin and 1 Kelly. This year we had the chance to get 1 Birkin for me and 1 Birkin for my husband account. I wonder if I can ask for another Birkin? Sorry for the stupid question…

Not a stupid question ! It can be any combo of Birkin/Kelly. You can buy two Birkins a year and never buy a Kelly, or vice versa.

This advice is only suitable for a customer who doesn’t have the “lose out” mindset.

I'll try to answer this without going off topic. The mentality of trying not to miss out or FOMO. One example is taking whatever "quota bag" is offered, for example in FSH, regardless of whether one likes or wants it. Simply because FSH does not count any other bags purchased in other countries within their store quota.

They do. I was there last week. They can’t see what you bought and where, but there is a note on your profile if quota is reached

I was just using this as an example of FOMO as explanation, but I am
so glad you posted this.

I agree with you, Paris mentioned to me long ago, that they can see quota bag purchases on profiles. I have shared it on the Paris thread before. It's really up to their discretion whether they want to divulge or enforce it. I guess that's why FSH is really where people go to try their luck. I am guessing this enforcement is a more recent development, with newer relationships, perhaps due to low stock levels and especially in summer.
My FSH SAs have never exercised a worldwide quota for me for the last 16 years I have shopped with them, and I am sure others can attest to it also. Nothing was mentioned when I was there earlier this year and was offered a MK.

Quota is fairly recent development since 2022 I believe? Also, I guess you have your ways since you already had two quota bags early in a year. So its not a usual situation.
