It's not a semester system (it used to be, in some stores). Now it's 2/year and even that is pretty flexible....
May I ask what country you are based? Also what exactly is it phrased that ‘spending will be deducted’? Do they ever say for example that one has to spend this much £$€ to get this or that or is it more vague?
I’m based in Hong Kong. My SA didn’t say exactly how much I need to spend. For example I spent certain amount to get offer of my P18, but SA said I can continue to accumulate the spending to get my K25. However if I spend certain amount to get offer of a pochette, after that I will have to start accumulating my spending from $0 to get my b25.

If your SO arrived in September, surely you would take it (unless you did not like it for some reason when it eventually arrived)
and if the quota system were being applied strictly, you would not know if a bag matching your wishlist became available.
If your wishlist bag arrived in September, surely you would take that then.
You would not decline it because you were waiting for a SO, because you could have no idea if that might arrive next month or next year.
However the interesting question would be, what would happen if your SO bag arrived after you had taken your wishlist bag. It would be very much at the discretion of the SM, but it seems unlikely that your SO would just be taken into stock, with it being offered to you.
I went to my local store today (NYC area) and was told that this year would only be one bag per year due to the shortage. Has anyone else heard this?

My SA (not in US) told me the same thing. But she didn’t say it like it’s a rule. Just that it could be a long wait to get an offer and resulting in getting only one before the year is over.
I haven’t heard this (my store is Madison). I’ve already had one 2022 offer (B30 touch ostrich) which I declined, and my SA and I expect that a bag I want will be available for me this Spring. I do have a relatively high prespend and a number of QB already though
This is what I *suspect* may happen for this 2022 as well... Limited bags to meet increasing demand = long wait to get an offer and resulting in getting only 1 QB for the year (for regular QB clients).
Yes. It didn’t sound like it was a permanent change. I’ve been shopping at that store for over a decade, and she assured me that exceptions would be made for more established clients. I was just wondering if that was the case elsewhere.
I’m suspecting this would happen as last year they were mentioning most people would only get one bag for the year.
Constance has never been a quota bag in the USA.
