Annonson, that bangle is LOVELY.......you are so lucky to get that as a gift from a relative. I love the translucency and I'm sure it goes with any wardrobe. Do you wear it often? Is it new?
actually I think it will be a major score to find real A-quality jadeite at the HK Jade market most if not all of these should be pretty nephrite or something else. But for $10 souvenirs these are really fun to shop around.

I only wear it a few times bcos it a little big for me. It a brand new bangle . I love the colour & design.
Jadeite, I doubt any of that is A grade also. It's probably all B, C, or B&C jadeite. I seriously doubt it would be nephrite either, as nephrite is rarely treated and is still quite expensive. Your going to pay $5000-$7000 for a nice bangle of nephrite, with even color and few inclusions. Most nephrite these days comes from British Columbia, Alaska, Montana and around there. It is almost all bought up and shipped to HK for processing. This is very high quality, emerald green material and is not cheap. There are still sources in Russia, and in China, but these are much smaller sources.
But, maybe the smaller bits of nephrite are sold at these markets. The thing is, Nephrite doesn't have the same look as jadeite and so it's hard to imagine that people would use is as a jadeite impersonator.
Annonson,....sigh....how lovely. I would wear that constantly too. It has such a fresh color. It's beautiful. I see why you love it so. Are you happy with the bangles you have, or do you find yourself wanting to add more?
I'm always looking for bangles to add to my collection . I'm hoping to find a red one which is rare. Sigh ...
