Oh yay, thanks guys! I think I will. It isn't perfect, but I'm 99% sure the color is natural and I know something this lively color wise would be way beyond what I could afford if it were without flaws. Thanks Silver Mom for the complement my blue one. It is actually blue with clouds of lavender and a small translucent spot of yellow, red that lies over the blue like a cloud. I adore it. My husband got it for me from jojo and it was a good price. We paid $2700.00 for it. When I get my green/yellow/red one back from repolishing, I'll post my entire collection of bangles :)
Claire, how often do you wear your blue jade. I am thinking I should wear mine all the time but am afraid that I will bang it and it will crack. But if yours got even darker, I might take a chance.

Silver Mom, I wear my bangles constantly. I take baths with them cuz water keeps jadeite luminous. I am sure to wash them with soap if I think I may have gotten lotion on them. I don't worry too much about banging a little because they are strong. Dropping them is the real danger for cracking or chipping them, which is done mostly while taking them on and off!

Desingningstyle, It is a lovely bangle. I don't know about how much it might be worth. Assuming it's grade A jade, maybe $700-$1800? I haven't bought any jade like that before. This is my best guess, but am no expert. If you really want to know, you could spend $80 and send it to GIA for basic jadeite evaluation. They will determine whether it's A, B, C, or B+C jadeite. This is an identification few jewelers-gemologists can make as it requires special equipment that large gem labs have. Then, with that info., take it to a jeweler who knows jade and its market for an appraisal of market value. Thank you so much for posting it. Do you wear it often?

Ok, here are a few pics of the green bangle with my blue one and my emerald ring, which I would wear it with. I could not get a closer image of the extreme stone lines/fractures which are surface reaching. Do you still think I should keep it?

The size and proportions of that bangle are perfect for you! How lucky to find a bangle of stunning colour that fits you so well.

Thanks for your compliments, everyone!

Clairejune - i think u defintely should keep the green one. It's a lovely colour!

Silver Mom - the green/yellow bangle from your jeweller is sooo pretty! Do u know how much something like that costs?

OK guys, I asked my jeweler if she could send me pictures of the blue bangle that I said was so gorgeous because I wanted to show you guys so here it is. The pictures that I took of it when I was in the store came out really junk because the lighting was so bad. Isn't it gorgeous! I think it is even nicer than the one I bought. She is so sweet she just sent me the pictures.

This is really lovely. What an amazing colour!

Silver Mom, that blue bangle is a dream bangle! The other one is pretty amazing too. They have both inspired me.View attachment 2367670

Both your bangles are so pretty and look wonderful on your wrist. I'm looking forward to the rest of your collection!

Thanks jjtt. The color is a brilliant emerald green which is not captured at all in the photos. I had a hard time being sure whether the color is natural. Last night, my husband set up the gemological microscope and we looked under intense magnification for signs of dye and there were none! Now I think it could use a repolish and a gold band around an area where two major stone fractures/lines are very close to each other and close to the edge. It is an example of a jade bangle with both the best quality and the worst quality in it. The stone lines are natural though, and it looks like it went through a tough, rough time in it's formation.

Regarding the decision to keep the green bangle or not, the question has come down to; would you accept the worst quality in order to also have the best quality? Hmmm, almost a philosophical question. I'm going to keep it because I love how extreme it is in both ways. It's got character, that's for sure.
