BreadnGem, I push up my jade higher up, then wear my watch as usual. Sometimes there'll be some clanking but more often than not the jade stays put. That said, I wear jade more as an accessory (not 24/7) but the watch is a staple. Some ladies wear the jade on their right hand but I think whether it's watch or jade I still prefer to have them on the less dominant hand.

So.., hmm.,. Im not much of a help here!

I would love to post pictures of my bangles but don't know how to post pictures on this site. Can anyone tell me how to do it. Thanks guys. Yay, I figured it out. This is a picture of my lavender jade bangle. I forgot I had it and found it in my safety deposit box recently. Can anyone tell me if it looks like a grade A lavender bangle. Thanks much.

This is untreated :smile1:

Druzy, Wouldn't you be able to tell a Grade B jade by it changing color after a while tho? I know that they try to make Grade B to look like a really nice Grade A jade but would the color stay? Don't you guys think that jade is so fascinating.

Grade B jade will always change colour after a while; from a few months to a year or so, depending on how well it was made. It's because the chemicals in the jade react with your skin/changes in temperature, and either shift around or seep into your pores, which is why it's not recommended to wear treated jade bangles on a daily basis.

Remember BreadnGem I am always here to help if you need it. LOL just send me the bangle and I will wear it for you. LOL Anyway, I think it really looks nice with something else on your arm along with the jade. It looks better to me so the watch would look great with it. Cheers.

Oh wow, went to see a person who has been selling jades for 30 years and knows her jades well. She said both of my jades were Grade A jades. I am soooooo happy. Thanks everyone for your advice.

Yes, I am thrilled. It sure was a good suggestion to go and ask someone that knew her jades. Thank you guys. She said it was an old world type jade. She was so knowledgeable. I wish I could have stayed longer to chat but she had another meeting after so we had to leave. Jades are so fascinating.

Yesterday I went to Zales to look for a gold chain to wear with my Jade bangle. The salesgirl said, "You know that you should not wear a gold chain with your bangle because Jade is a soft stone and the gold will scratch your Jade". I told her that Jade is very strong and will not be scratched by gold. She kept saying that it will. What are your opinions on that. Also, she said that you should never wear your bangle 24/7 because since it is a soft stone very likely it will crack if you bang something. Do you guys agree?

Not sure how jade and gold interact. I personally wouldn't want to risk scratching either one!

In Asia, the traditional way of wearing is 24/7. There's a chinese saying "wear your jade and it will nurture you for life", plus the common belief that the colours grow more vibrant / translucent the longer you wear it. Both are enough reason for people to keep that jade on I guess!

Just wear your jades as you please. Unless you do a lot of housework or sports, or intend to keep it as a family heirloom or something. Personally, I would feel happier wearing and admiring my jade than store it in a drawer for posterity. We only live once! :)

^^ i agree. Here in Asia jade bangles are meant to be worn 24/7. Thats why people recommend u get the smallest size possible. Why, some Chinese old ladies' bangles are so snug they are impossible to remove!

Besides, contrary to what that SA said, jade is not a soft stone. It will break if u hit it hard, but it doesnt scratch easily. Again, many Asian ladies wear theirs with gold bracelets. I'd only worry about scratching if u wear it with a diamond bracelet, probably.

So i'd say to go ahead & layer it with a gold bracelet. They'll look nice together!
