Box bags in production right now are rare. Not sufficient enough for stores to order it at Podium so Hermes sends it out when they can. I would think you are a valued customer and one your SA thought would appreciate the leather. Not all customers can or want to carry it. Congrats and enjoy!I got this kelly 32 in February (didn't expect it and not sure if other customers declined it and that was why my SA offered it to me?)
When I did a reveal on this bag, someone mentioned it could be a push offer.... and had to ask what a push offer was because I didn't know box bags were rare.

Bumping this up for @belhomme since it's about Push Offers which include Box bags.
I was recently chatting with the SM of my local boutique and apparently in addition to the bags that are just sent to the stores, they have the ability to look at some of the Push Offer items currently available and request them for clients. She is looking out for a specific leather for a client and if it comes up as available, they can sometimes snap it up.
I would suggest you work with your store exclusively rather than cast a wide net, I also think unless it's at FSH the chances of a walk in Box Kelly/B would be very unlikely. The SM told me that stores really work to get these leathers for longtime clients. Hope this helps!
Finally took her out and already has scratches on her [emoji23]

Very lovely box kelly you got! And in box too! Enjoy!![]()
Thought I’d bump this up. I got a a B30 etoupe in tadelakt, which was a push offer. Not sure If I want to keep her. Is this box leather worth keeping? Is this a rare item that I should keep or store credit it for a typical leather like Togo or Clemence? How is your Kelly holding up with the scratches?Thank you, dear.
This will be a seasonal bag for me... I.e. Would probably use it once every season [emoji23]
Have to find an occasion to use it
I wonder if this is the same as a "push present"? Is the person receiving the offer pregnant by chance?
Tadelakt isn't Box, although many people will say it's related.Thought I’d bump this up. I got a a B30 etoupe in tadelakt, which was a push offer. Not sure If I want to keep her. Thanks for the insightful info! I appreciate itTadelakt isn't Box, although many people will say it's related.
This is not a robust leather. although it is beautiful. Nor is it all that rare, although not often seen in a B. Tadelakt won't add value to this bag in time or at resale, certainly not once it is used, so if you'd prefer Togo/Clemence and can get another bag at your boutique, I'd return.
There are a few dedicated threads on Tadelakt which you can research, but to stay on topic here, "push offer" does not mean it will have extra value or be collectible, although certainly push offer items tend to be uncommon and special in some way.
Why is box so scarce? Apologies if this question has been answered before. I have two box bags, both bought new. Now one has seen wear and should go to spa and I never use the other b/c I don't want to bang it up. (Irrational, I know). The last time I asked about ordering a box Kelly, I was told that box bags are strictly push offers now, meaning I could not order via PO or SO. My understanding is that items in the push order category are one-off or limited quantity pieces that are sent to various boutiques at corporate discretion- they can't be ordered by the boutique, but the boutique might receive an unexpected item (like a box Kelly) as a push item. As it was described to me, if the item is only available as a push offer, don't hold your breath on it showing up at your boutique.
