I had purse peace while the babies were little through middle school. I allowed my eyes to wander during their HS years. Now that one is off to college I’ll be back to admiring from afar and just investing in a very few non-bag purchases.

I have reached the conclusion that purse peace is overrated. Myself, I am at peace with the idea of continuously shaping and reshaping my assortment of bags into a curated collection. I really enjoy the process of selecting, acquiring, and pruning back overgrowth. I don’t know why this brings me such satisfaction, but it does. I’ve recently put eight bags aside to give away, selected their unsuspecting new owners, and can’t wait for the first opportunity to rehome them. It’s the ultimate twofer: free up closet space AND bring happiness to someone else! Everyone wins.

I feel like I finally reached purse peace!! :yahoo:I look at my collection and yes there are some bags I want one day, but I feel if I don’t ever get them that IT IS OK! It’s crazy I feel this way. I’m impressed at myself. Lol.

I was on a purse frenzy since last year. It started with my Chanel flaps and then to Hermès to vintage Louis Vuitton to needing more neutrals or more color etc. It was an insane journey and sometimes it was stressful, because none of these bags are cheap! What really helped was curating the collection and eventually figuring out what bags worked the best for me. I realized I need a top handle and a strap for it to be a functional everyday bag and the ones that don’t have this are my formal/less used bags. Anything heavy or fussy was an automatic “no.” Getting rid of the ones that didn’t work for me helped me figure out what not to buy in the future and ultimately reach purse peace.

I mentioned I wanted two more purses in my collection: One is an everyday black bag and another is to add one more Hermès bag (B/K) to my collection. An everyday black bag is so personal and surprisingly very hard to find. I feel ok wanting this, because every few years these types of bag get very worn and need to be replaced anyways. So every few years I would always be looking for this type of bag. And for the Hermès bag, if I ever find a beautiful one I can’t say “no” to, then that’s the one I would get. If I don’t ever get another one, I would be fine with it also.

I finally feel relieved. It even makes shopping more fun now, because I know exactly what I want/need. So that was my little achievement for the year 2020 (lol) and thank you for letting me share! Now I would like to sit down with a nice book and let this year end quickly.

I like to look and I think I'm somewhat of a compulsive shopper - like to have something to hunt for. But not necessarily bags. I've bought two bags in the past year or so - one cost real money and the other was a steal. I'd be tempted buy a bag that's listed right now if only I could sell something. Not that I couldn't come up with the money but it was more fun back in the day when I could sell bags fairly easily and for ok prices on Bonanza.

Does anyone actually ever have purse peace?
I did. After the hunt of an excellent condition Montsouris mm backpack. I have spent more than 50k on my collection. Then one day, I just didn’t find anything "attractive" on the website. I’ve scrolled down every single item in every section of the website. Then, I understood, I had everything I was hunting and that the thrill is gone. Anyhow, I still look time to time and get inspired on IG, but never I have the same urge of getting another bag or slgs from LV. I guess we can say it’s purse peace? I sleep better at night too! Haha! Xx

I think I'm at purse peace cos I have 6 bags which meets all *my* needs. And there are no bags that I badly want at the moment.
Doesn't mean that I won't buy another bag though, my needs may evolve and once in a while, I mull over a couple of bags, but at the moment, I'm good :)

I don’t really want anything, and I’m pretty happy

I’m waiting to gift some Hermes bags to cousins, but they keep irritating me, so I’ve postponed Lol

I do think it’s cyclical. In 2008, I got rid of almost all of my chanel bags (I wore primarily chanel) and started buying Hermes. at the Peak of my Hermes purchasing, I thought I wouldn’t wear other brands. but, now, I’m finding that some others can be fun. . . Really, if one had more space, this wouldn’t be such an issue. But, I’ve let go of bags only to repurchase them once or twice back at a higher price. So, I’m wary of culling too soon. But, I’m actually more of a RTW clothing person than bags
