Purse peace

I recently got a new bag and I’m feeling very peaceful about my collection now. Yes, I’m still wanting a Reissue 227 but we have other financial goals we want to accomplish first.

So for now, I have purse peace. :panic:
I feel the contributing factor to this was making a mental note of all the bags I might need and then curating my collection to tick all the boxes.

I am at peace after having a bit of a frenzy after my first purchase two years ago. After taking the initial plunge, I just got into it and wanted other patterns so my first was a brand new DE, then I went preloved for mono, DA and Epi. All different styles. And I bought new SLGs in DE, Mono and a barely used Epi. Plus a new bandeau. Feel like the fever is over, but I love coming here to vicariously live through you all (and feel understood, haha)!

For the first time ever I don’t want anything....

I hope this feeling stays!
I have the same feeling too !

I still love to refresh the LV site and window shop but nothing that I have been really really wanting enough to purchase.

The bags I plan to add are a soho disco, neverfull mm and a chanel woc or mini rectangular. Since these will always be available I dont feel an urgent need.

What are your thoughts in purse peace? Does such exist? If so, what was the bag that gave you peace in your collection? When I got my first couple of luxury bags, I used to feel like they were so special and with time (and more financial security), I feel like I don't appreciate my purchases as much. Does anyone else feel that way?

I started to move towards purse peace after being let down by my favorite design house. Right after this crappy episode happened with Longchamp, covid19 also happened. I started thinking differently about things, my possessions and life.

I made a purse plan a while back. My life has changed so much in the last 2 yrs that my needs are different now.
I thought about what kind of bags I actually use and what I enjoy carrying. I thought of what I need and like - there are 7-9 (designer/leather) bags that I need in my life, one of each sort (large tote, work bag, hobo, handheld, weekend bag) and some crossbody bags. I own 2 small ones and 2 larger slim ones and I'm not ready to give any of them up because I use them all regularly and they are so different from one another. I also might keep a Lumi shoulder bag that has convertible straps and that can fit a lot as it's handy to use with a backpack.
Backpacks and Kipling nylon bags I'm not going to sell at this point since I use them often and they are easy to store.

When I'm selling my excess things I try not to pay too much attention on the money I lose when selling - I think of it as a price I have to pay for the freedom I gain by getting go of things that weigh me down and make my home seem crowded. I think my purse peace is finally making its way into my life and I can finally let go of that always-looking-for-the-perfect-bag- mindset. Because, for the most of us, there is no One Bag that will make all the other bags unnecessary. I think can live with those 7-9 bags I'm planning to have for a long time and if something new comes, something old hopefully will go. This thought makes me really happy.

Purse peace? It would be nice. But I know myself too well. At my age, I have embraced a different mantra....

Same. My husband and I have always been fairly frugal and lived below our means. We have a healthy savings (thank goodness for it as I lost my job to Covid) and over the past few years we've embraced our hobbies a bit more. We're a little older and embracing - if not now, when? My bag collection has grown accordingly. I'm back on Ban Island until this current economy improves but I'm already planning my winter/Christmas 2020 bag.
