Maybe this is a stupid question, but how does the hook stay on the table? It looks like it would just slide right off

I just bought one a few weeks ago. I still just put the bag on a free chair or next to me on my chair most of the time, but I certainly use my purse hook when I can't do either of those easily. My boyfriend laughs at me, but I don't really feel pretentious. Just like a woman who doesn't set her bag on the floor.

I had no idea there was such a thing as a bag hook! My goodnes, what will they think of next? It's a good idea but I'm with Maggien, I just CAN'T......I'll come across as a bagsnob and just feel too embarrased having it displayed like that.

Okay, now I see what you ladies are talking about. Some more questions... as the girls above noted... how does it stay on the table - magnet, heavy weight? Where do you place it on the table - same side as you or on the side of the table. I'm just afraid someone would brush against it if it's on the side - I know, paranoid bag freak.
