I kindly request that all members participating in the MM and Harry thread dial back the vile rhetoric.

I am not opposed to discussing public personas on TPF, including the constant torrent of news surrounding the couple from this thread. But I find it troubling when their looks are being nitpicked apart to a degree that is just not appropriate.

This thread has drawn criticism over the years, and I discussed it at great length with Megs and the mods. I am not looking to close it down, but the vitriol needs to be dialed back.

My personal feelings about hate threads aside, this ultra-negative vibe is something better suited for other forums, Reddit, or elsewhere. I am holding our community to higher standards.

I'm still not sure whether or not this is a parody account, but her Ivy League education is as real as the nonsense she writes imo.

This has got to be a parody account. All of its posts are too over the top.

Since when have many of these people been in their right mind. I am leaning towards her being a crazy sugar.

If you go far back enough in her account, there is a post where she rails against "senior Squaddies" and doesn't accept whatever the rest of the Squad is telling her. Yet she identifies as belonging to the Squad.

Is the Telegraph known to be her mouth piece? The other thread claims it to be Camilla's. I cannot follow anymore. But the Telegraph IS NOT a tabloid. How can they be in her pocket? I don’t get it.

Maybe the reporter is in her pocket, and is trusted enough that the editor lets the biased articles through.

Well, I never thought TIME or the NY Times were tabloids either, but I sure as heck don't trust either of them any more. The fact they can be bought has become painfully obvious over the the past few years.

The funny thing is, earlier in that conversation with Oprah, she specifically said she knew Archie would have the title of Prince once Charles became King. She had to know it would only be a matter of 3-4 years until that happened - the Queen was 93 when Archie was born. Yet she just kept going round and round about Archie receiving “security”. Like, security for/from what? I don’t get it. Archie was six months old when they defected under the cover of night to Vancouver Island. What kind of security does a six, twelve, or twenty-four month for that matter require? Seriously, William and Catherine take their children to public parks.

Secondly, this whole statement is a giant contradiction. They relentlessly have done and continue to do the opposite of everything in it!

Their whole existence and money making ways function by them living in the past and constantly talking about and re-living the past (even if most of what they say about it is fictional).
THEY are the exhausting circus because THEY are the ones drip feeding drama to media daily to keep themselves talked about.
If they were honestly living in the present moment and not thinking about, nit-picking some may-or-may-not-have-happened conversation from a few years ago and didn't hold a spiteful grudge, then they would disappear and live their private lives peacefully and not partake in the constant toxic, sh*t-stirring, jealous, petty, insufferable attention-seeking drama that tries to upstage RF events/special dates & undermine the RF members as individuals.
If they truly kept to themselves, they would be forgettable and that's exactly what they don't want.

So, today I went to a baby shower. The MIL had flown in from London, so of course I asked her for her opinion.
Cliff notes on that she said:

1) She is very happy with Charles getting to be king, she thinks he is modern and that he will be great for the UK. “Wasn’t he the first to talk about the climate?”
2) She is very angry with how the press treated Harry and thinks it’s terrible that his family refused to back him.
3) She read Spare and just wanted to cuddle him, felt sooooo bad for him because he had such a hard life, being the spare.
4) Thinks the Sussexes should be left alone, the press continues to trash them, and if Harry wanted to marry her, it’s his right, and their life is no one’s business. The continuing bad press is done for money.

As you can imagine, I did my best impression of a bobble head, and moved on as soon as I could.

You deserve a lot credit for being able to calmly let that slide. If it were me I probably would’ve gone on a rant, refuting everything she said, and been labeled by the entire party as a crazy lady.

Your experience shows how differently everyone sees them. They still have millions of supporters.

I thought of you ladies the whole time she was going on and on.
She lives in London, it’s her first grandchild, and she’s flying home on Wednesday. Plus, she had a stroke 8 months ago.
Couldn’t bring myself to contradict her.
