Prince Harry and Meghan Markle thread

I kindly request that all members participating in the MM and Harry thread dial back the vile rhetoric.

I am not opposed to discussing public personas on TPF, including the constant torrent of news surrounding the couple from this thread. But I find it troubling when their looks are being nitpicked apart to a degree that is just not appropriate.

This thread has drawn criticism over the years, and I discussed it at great length with Megs and the mods. I am not looking to close it down, but the vitriol needs to be dialed back.

My personal feelings about hate threads aside, this ultra-negative vibe is something better suited for other forums, Reddit, or elsewhere. I am holding our community to higher standards.

Thanks for reading.

Maybe he can be, uh, exorcised once she dumps him. But I'm not sure the BRF will ever be truly be able - or even willing - to move on from his betrayal. He's inflicted deep wounds on every single one of them, two people he hurt deeply are gone without ever learning he was sorry for treating them horribly, and he tried to destroy the very essence of their being. How do you come back from that.
The problem is H has shown that he is very dim, malleable, gullible, and totally at the mercy of whoever is whispering in his ear while stroking his ego/todger. Before his marriage, the family thought that he was troubled but loyal to his family, particularly his brother. Post Megxit, he’s clearly still troubled but has not only demonstrated zero loyalty to his brother or any other member of the BRF but also a level of malice, vindictiveness and venality that has stunned his family and long time friends. So even if she dumps him, unless he’s declared mentally incompetent (which he is not), his family can‘t keep him in a total bubble, free of all potentially harmful influences, so they can never trust him not to turn on them again in the future. I don’t see a way back for him either.

The best he can hope for in the future is toleration. Even then, conversations around him would be very guarded. Andrew will always be part of the family in a better way because he always supported it and the monarchy.

Back when I was growing up, we called some of Harry’s behavior as being “two faced.” I can think of one girl in particular in HS that fit that description and I kept my distance. I thought she had a nasty streak. The difference was that she was quite intelligent, which Harry is not. Guess where she went to school? Northwestern. Lololol!

Hasn't the press softened a bit on the daughters since they've married and had children?
Not noticeably. The British press still gleefully jumps at every opportunity to try to connect them with Harry and Meghan to make it appear they are secretly (or not so secretly) disloyal to Charles and William. I’ve seen zero evidence of that but it is often alluded to as if it was fact. Eugenie and her husband visited H&M a year ago. That isn’t a crime and it wasn’t wrong if Eugenie did it because she genuinely cares about her cousin and wanted to see him. I suspect even Eugenie may have given up on him by now. He may no longer be the same guy she knew growing up.

The press is incredibly lazy and just wants to assign everyone a side or “team” so they can sit back and judge them without making any real effort to investigate. It is frustrating when you read an article and know you are only hearing one side of a story and I’m not just talking about the Royals.

She might have dyed it black for the funeral. I believe that hat was the same, just even more squashed and ugly

She also sported a pair of pearl earrings gifted to her from the Queen, but her hat—and its nasty tilt—was phenomenal. If it looks familiar, it’s because we’ve seen it before. The Duchess wore the white version of it by Stephen Jones for Dior in June during Queen Elizabeth’s final Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

June 3, 2022

For the National Service of Thanksgiving during the Platinum Jubilee, Meghan's first official public appearance in the UK since stepping back from her senior royal role, she opted for an all cream Dior look, topped with a wide-brimmed hat from Dior, designed by Stephen Jones, that showed off a pair of diamond earrings, which appear to be her oft-favored Snowflake Snowstorms from Birks.
Oh yes!! I forgot about the black version of the ugly hat, she must have got a 2-for-1 deal.

I think most of us already knew that

Thank you for the hilarious, yet disturbing, image of Camilla ripping Charles’ clothes and throwing him onto the bed.

Camilla was cheating on her husband as well. For all we know she was the dominant one in the affair.
from what I read in tina brown's book, camilla's husband was very attractive and a player. I think Charles was more in love with her than she was with him

BTW I don't get the sugars' fixation with how now no mixed raced family member (using the term loosely) is at the coronation and it's the same white people. My question is, do we HAVE to have mixed raced or black family members in an obviously European, white family? Had she not turned out to be a massive jerk and nutjob she would have been there, so she's not excluded because of her ancestry. How many white family members are there in any of the Nigerian royal families? The Moroccan one? Sheikh of Dubai was married like 15 times and all of them were from various Arab countries if they weren't his cousins to begin with. I feel this is such an unrealistic standard.
It's lovely to have diversity and inclusivity, but enough is enough. I'm so tired of these extreme POVs. Is the coronation not going to be a real coronation unless there's a certain percentage of each race, LGBT, and transgender people there? Give me an F'ing break.

I strikes me as a bit odd that there are no big name British performers. Two Americans and a British boy band from the 90s is the best they could do?
This! I've been waiting for them to release the lineup and I hope that's not all of it. I mean where's Paul McCartney? Tom Jones? Shirley Bassey? Annie Lennox? Come on, Queen? At least Sam Ryder? There's got to be performers wanting to do this. Who is organizing this show? :confused1:

There’s no way for us to know after all these years, they aren’t talking. They were certainly mutually attracted, otherwise Camilla wouldn’t have made herself so available to Charles.

I mean Charles gave her an engraved bracelet only a few days before marrying Diana. Some have claimed the gift was meant to be a goodbye of sorts, in reality I think it was a promise of his love and a reassurance that things would continue on as they had before.

DM appears to be concerned about the Harkles' finances.
We're talking about $200K round trip, which would be a bargain if TW, Dor*a, kids, hairdressers, makeup artists,… chickens all went together for the coronation.

What's the average spend? 'Some spend $1 MILLION A MONTH on simple trips'

Both women say the sky is the limit when it comes to customers splashing cash.

The pilot says that the planes she flies generally cost from $6,000 to $12,000 an hour to charter.

This means a simple trip from London to New York could come in at $100,000 after the catering and additional fees have been added on.

She adds: 'It takes just ten trips, and then before you know it you've blown $1 million jetting around.'

The air stewardess says she's witnessed similar spend.

She muses: 'I'd say the costs for private jets range anywhere from $20,000 to $1 million. I've had a client spend $1 million in a month before.

'Things can really add up and the requests can be as lavish and as outrageous as you like. For instance, the client might order vintage champagne or a supercar to pick them up on the runway. No request is too much in the world of uber luxury!'

Another cost factored into client spend are tips. The stewardess says she often gets hefty tips and the best one she received was $2,000.

She explained: 'What made it even better was that the client just asked me to leave him alone the entire time, so that's what I did. Another time I got a bottle of champagne worth around $4,000 as a thank you.'
