Prince Harry and Meghan Markle thread

I kindly request that all members participating in the MM and Harry thread dial back the vile rhetoric.

I am not opposed to discussing public personas on TPF, including the constant torrent of news surrounding the couple from this thread. But I find it troubling when their looks are being nitpicked apart to a degree that is just not appropriate.

This thread has drawn criticism over the years, and I discussed it at great length with Megs and the mods. I am not looking to close it down, but the vitriol needs to be dialed back.

My personal feelings about hate threads aside, this ultra-negative vibe is something better suited for other forums, Reddit, or elsewhere. I am holding our community to higher standards.

Thanks for reading.

For a royal reporter Richard Eden is massively missing the mark here. The Marquess of Cholmondeley might be a friend, but first and foremost he has held several important ceremonial roles for both The Queen and now Charles from early childhood due to his family's importance.

Also I feel Camilla's grandchildren and grandnephew make sense in this context. They didn't make up roles for them, they gave them roles that otherwise would have gone to sons of peers with little to no relationship to her. I think it's lovely.

Besides everything else Archie is just too young to take part in the coronation. George is 9 going on 10, Archie is not even 4. Any discussion on whether Harry's kids should take part in any way is just hot air.

Also ILBW is still waiting for confirmation for these: free birthday cakes/caterer/luxury gifts for Archie's birthday party; all merch contracts for parading her 'heart attack beauty' self around royal stomping grounds; the ETA for new custom-made wigs/extensions. Oh and free new plugs for her husband.
What does ILBW stand for?

Demands, demands, the Mirror lists 6.
#3 is a hard no. My guess is 4 [if they stay at Frogmore] and 5 are a sure thing. The rest not so much.

1. Birthday crossover

The coronation coincides with another big event for the Sussexes - Prince Archie’s fourth birthday.
It’s believed that the pair want to mark both, and their ideal situation would see their son’s own milestone recognised at his great grandfather’s.

2. Archie and Lilibet's roles
An insider told OK! that one of the issues between the couple and palace officials is how the Sussex children Archie, three, and one-year-old Lilibet will be included on the day but the source added their inclusion in the ceremony has "never been a bone of contention" because small children don’t attend royal events of this scale "due to restlessness and tantrums".
3. Balcony position
According to a source, the pair are requesting they are included on the balcony procession so they can wave along to the crowds with their relatives - however reports suggest this will not happen and they will be banned along with Prince Andrew.

4. Security

The security issue has been played out quite a bit in front of the general public as Harry has repeatedly demanded armed police protection for the times he and his family visit Britain.

5. Frog-more Cottage

It's believed they want to stay there with Harry’s cousin and her family, with whom the prince is close to, which will give their kids the opportunity to spend time with daughter Eug’s son, August, who is a similar age to Lilibet.

6. Face-to-face summit

The Mirror reports that Harry will only attend if he “gets a face-to-face” summit with his dad and brother to discuss their issues.

When I see articles like this, I wonder why the grifters keep putting these types of stories out there. This list of demands implies that they have the power in this relationship to force a negotiation with an outcome very favorable to them. It’s so delusional and ridiculous because they are marginal players who aren’t even welcome. They were invited solely because H is KC’s son and will play no role in the public celebrations leading up to the coronation or the ceremony itself. They might have better luck getting something if they say we want $$ to stay away from the coronation and keep our mouths shut for the week of the coronation. Granting concessions to them in order to entice them to come? Utter bs. But paying them to stay away and shut up, there might be some support for that strategy :annoyed: . And from a PR standpoint, other than their stans, people are tired of them and their delusional demands so this doesn’t win them any new supporters.

With #6 on the list, you just know they want to wear wires to this!

Also, there was a blind item once upon a time (around the jubi,we, perhaps?) that basic said H & TW asked about returning to the fold and were told that completion of a lot of therapy was a requirement. There were a lot more requirements, but that is the one I remember. Also, a more recent blind item said a statement has been made that H is welcome but he will always be family, but C3 refuses to have anything to do with TW ever again.

I wouldn't trust them to keep their mouths shut if they were paid off

Not recommending that KC pay them off. I agree with you that they can’t be trusted to honor the agreement. But they have a better chance of negotiating in private to get compensated to stay away than they have of getting any concessions on their well publicized ludicrous list of demands / requirements to induce them to come. Either strategy probably won’t work but one is marginally better than the other in terms of potential outcomes for them. And I truly don’t understand the benefit to them to have their ”negotiations” play out in public because they just look even more idiotic as each trial balloon fails in public.

Item 1: Charles is the children's grandfather, not great-grandfather.

Not to mention the cruelty of forcing a completely unprepared Archie to participate. He has been hidden away on the quiet mansion grounds for his most of his life. Do H&M want to take a sheltered small child and put him in front of tens of thousands of cheering people? They’d scare the crap out of him.

there was a conversation on The View about whether Louis would go to the coronation. apparently he may not go as he's only four and too young to sit still for all that boring stuff. Sunny - Meghan's big supporter - said she'd like to see Louis go as Charles and Camilla are so boring.

Breaking News :lol::giggle::lol:

Harry and Meghan are 'on the brink of confirming' whether they will go to King's Coronation and the duke 'has a lot of questions about how the event will work'

But despite the deadline for RSVPs reportedly passing on Monday, it is understood the Sussexes have yet to tell palace aides if they will be flying in from California for the service.

However a source told The Times: 'I hear they are going to confirm their plans soon, particularly now that ***** has.'

US President Joe ***** called Charles to let him know he will not be attending the service in central London, sending his wife Jill instead…

Well we know Sunny isn’t going to be watching unless Meghan is there anyway. Her opinion doesn’t mean squat.
