Prince Harry and Meghan Markle thread

I kindly request that all members participating in the MM and Harry thread dial back the vile rhetoric.

I am not opposed to discussing public personas on TPF, including the constant torrent of news surrounding the couple from this thread. But I find it troubling when their looks are being nitpicked apart to a degree that is just not appropriate.

This thread has drawn criticism over the years, and I discussed it at great length with Megs and the mods. I am not looking to close it down, but the vitriol needs to be dialed back.

My personal feelings about hate threads aside, this ultra-negative vibe is something better suited for other forums, Reddit, or elsewhere. I am holding our community to higher standards.

Thanks for reading.

There has been conflicting information about who wanted what. Did the Harry wanting the ring story originate with Burrell? I thought I’d heard it elsewhere.
Considering how things work in that family, I would expect that William would get first choice. Why he would want a watch, when the ring was more symbolic doesn’t even make sense to me. Unless William comes out and says something, I guess we’ll never know

I can guess. The ring was symbolic of their parents’ marriage, which was rocky and chaotic for most of the boys’ childhood. It has emotional baggage that the watch didn’t have. Now whether that ever occurred to them I don’t have a clue. You’re right, we’ll probably never know.

Good Lord...

She's a supermodel alright... :shocked: :shocked::lol:

I understand that, for example, Albert of Monaco has already confirmed his presence. It is possible that invitations are being sent to people according to their status. Their minister of propaganda seems to think that the Harkles' invitations have not yet been sent out.

Interesting, if true:

In keeping with a long-standing tradition, no European sovereigns attend coronations and are instead represented by the crown prince or princess. It is thought this is to ensure all attention is on the new monarch.

Of course, Albert is not technically a king. He may be the scion of the oldest dynasty in Europe – but he is titled Prince.

I've always been under the impression that he and KC have a good relationship, and given that his son is too young to represent him this makes sense.

ETA, I can see his son representing him at William's coronation in 15-20 years.

I have said I thought the ring was bad luck and would never want it, but Kate has made my superstition fade.

LOL! I would think twice about wearing a ring from that marriage!
